Kanchan Mukherjee | HENB | Kolkata | Dec 7, 2023:: The primary West Bengal TET exam was on December 10. Just when the exam is around the corner, the date of the TET exam has been changed all on a sudden without any specific reason! Now, the exam is rescheduled on December 24. Incidentally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the ‘Laksh Kanthe Gita Path’ event at the Brigade Parade Ground on this day. BJP alleges that the board has selectively postponed the examination date to 24 December to do politics. This was done to disrupt the Gita Path recital ceremony fixed months back where over a lakh people from all the districts of West Bengal will attend the same. According to a section of the examinees, the state government is trying to harass them by selectively leaving the day of competitive examination on the day of Gita Recital program.
The Gita Recital Programme is mainly organised by Akhil Bharatiya Sanskrita Parishad, Sanatan Sanskriti Sansad and Matilal Bharattirtha Seva Mission Asharm. The programme is supported by ISKCON, Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Prem Mandir Rishra, Bangiyo Kumbhao Parishad, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and different wings of RSS along with many other Hindu organisations, as told.
‘This Gita recital programme by a lakh of devotees in a first, may create a world record.’ claimed the organisers.
December 24 Gita Jayanti
This year auspcious Gita Jayanti falls Dec 22-Dec 24 according to Hindu caladers of various sects of Sanatana Dharma. Kokata will observe Gita Jayanti on Sunday, the Dec 24. The importance of the day is immense. This time, however, there is a lot of enthusiasm around this event as the first reason is that over one lakh people will recite the Gita in unison. And secondly, the Prime Minister himself will attend the event. Therefore, besides the Gita readers, many people will also gather to witness the event of this day. Among them there will be religious people as well as the aspirants, inquisitors and commoners.
TET Candidates may face problems
The Prime Minister will come to town on 24th December to join the Laksha Kanthe Gita Path (Gita recital by lakhs of people). So the Traffic will be controlled on this day. Millions of people will gather on that day in the brigade. Since it is Sunday, there is less traffic. Tate candidates may face problems due to this pairing. Especially, those who will come to Kolkata to take the exam on this day. Moreover, many of the examinees will be deprived of witnessing this great event. Therefore, anger has been spread among a section of the candidates. Since the organizers have settled the Gita recital in lakhs of voices long ago, the preparations are nearing completion, so they are unbale to change the date of the event. Meanwhile, the state government is also determined to hold the exam on the same day. Naturally, the candidates may have to pay the cost of the circumstances of crisis. On the other hand, the cadres of the ruling parties and the state police may restrict the vehicles coming to Kolkata on that day on the plea of the commencement of TET in order to dismantkle the Gita Recital programme in a very sane way.
Reactions
Nirgunananda Brahmachari, a monk of Rishara Prem Mandir, the vice-president of the event said, “Our program has been fixed long ago. The fact that the Prime Minister (PM Narendra Modi) will come has also been finalized. So it is not possible for us to change the day.”
All India Vice President of BJP Dilip Ghosh said, “The fact that the ruling party and the Chief Minister of this state are anti-Sanatan religion is not worth saying anymore. Postponing the exam and making a program of Sanatan Dharma a day is indicative of his attitude.”
“There is also anger among the examinees as they are in trouble. The question arises…Why is the TET exam suddenly changed to December 24 on which MP Modi will come to join a Gita recital programme with one lakh people? Behind the scenes TMC is doing a filthy politics under the instruction of WB CM Mamata Banerjee. It is nothing but to harass Hindus in an utter humiliation” Ghosh told HENB.
The matter may reach to HC
For such created crisis between the TET examinees and Gita event, some quarters in Hindu Rights activists are readying to knock the door of Calcutta High Court to restrain WB Board of Primary Education for conducting the said examination on Dec 24 under the limits of Art 226.
From some source it is told that Hon’ble Calcutta High Court may start a sou moto case in this matter.
