Modi’s ‘Surprise Visit’ in Pakistan and the ‘Akhand Bharat’ Fallacy of RSS.

RSS Think Tank and BJP leader Ram Madhav sees an ‘Akhand Bharat’ uniting India, Pakistan and Bangladesh thru Modi’s surprise visit to Pakistan.
Upananda Brahmachari | HENB | New Delhi | Dec 26, 2015:: I want to confess here that as a RSS swyamsevak (volunteering cadre), I got this idea of “Akhand Bharat” first in Sakha (daily programme of RSS) in my school life. After that I got the ideas “Akhand Bharat” as propounded by Dr. Hedgewar, Veer Savarkar and Sri Aurobindo one after another. In their traditional school of thinking, all of them considered this country as Motherland, Land of Forefathers, Holy Land etc., ultimately an inseparable identity and obviously as living embodiment.
In Sakhas, the Swaymsevaks use to sing chorus for many songs in which the area of this “Akhand Bharat” is clearly narrated. It encompasses the area stretched from Brahmadesh (Myanmar) to Gandhar (Afghanistan) in the East-West line and Kanyakumari to Kashmir in the South-North. This area resembles with ancient Aryavarta, Jambudweep or Bharatavarsha. Theoretically, every Swaymsevak generally accept this idea of “Akhand Bharat” on the basis of Bharatavarsha as a ‘Cultural State’ and never as ‘Theocratic’ one. But, in reality and in the changed situation over the years, this sense of “Akhand Bharat” is getting impracticable for the fallacy of RSS on this matter.
Clearly the headline of this analysis shows a bare retrogression in RSS theory of “Akhand Bharat” as it rejected the inclusion of Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and even the Nepal through a negation or suppression of facts! We should discuss about the matter seriously in the context of rapidly changed environs in the Indian sub-continent.
This discussion is related to PM Modi’s breakfast at Kabul in Afghanistan and tea at Lahore in Pakistan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to New Delhi on Friday evening after a three-nation tour that included a surprise visit to Pakistan that made world headlines.

Stepping forward, an exalted ex RSS spokesperson, still RSS Pracharak (whole-timer) and now BJP general secretary Ram Madhav has said that parts of India – including Pakistan and Bangladesh – which were separated 60 years ago, will reunite to form “Akhand Bharat” (undivided India).
“The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) still believes that one day these parts, which have for historical reasons separated only 60 years ago, will again, through popular goodwill, come together and Akhand Bharat will be created,” Ram Madhav said in the interview to international news network Al-Jazeera.
Not, only that Ram Madhav made it clear that as an RSS member, he also holds that view. As there is no official reaction from the RSS HQ, we may hold that RSS approves the views expressed by Ram Madhav so far.
Funny enough, if the PM Modi’s breakfast and tea in different two separate countries stand vital for becoming a “Akhand Bharat”, then what is the explanation of BJP and RSS about Pak Occupied Kashmir, inaccessibility of Indian citizens in Kashmir valley and hard restrictions in vast portion of North eastern states for the common people from other states all along?
As the “Party with Difference”, BJP must not make a lie that the territory of India is still decreasing its lands through the aggression of China, Pakistan and even we lost a huge territory to Bangladesh in these couple of months through land swap deal. For the implication of land swap deal (the settlement on enclaves) materialized between India and Bangladesh in Modi Raj (regime), India got 7,000 acres land areas from Bangladesh and India had to offer 17,000 acres of lands to Bangladesh. The loss of 10,000 acers of land in Indian part is very clear here. But, we the people of RSS and BJP is proceeding and expanding towards an ” “Akhand Bharat”.
I should not twist the discussion upon any rumors like that ‘Modi’s surprise visit in Pakistan was for obtaining a NOC for two upcoming Steel Plants in Pak for an Indian Steel Tycoon’ etc., but I am very much shocked to see the Sangha Parivar’s tendency to rely upon fantasy than reality.
In the realm of ruling power, in most of the places the Sangha is loosing its non political identity and setting aside its socio-cultural goal only to relish the political facilities. In this “Akhand Bharat” propagation, Sangha wants to take the political venture of BJP instead of proliferation of its cultural ideology. This is unreal to the ideological yardstick of RSS and may be injurious for its sustenance.
In this “Akhand Bharat” row, RSS must rely upon simple theory of homogeneity. Elements of homogeneity mix well, otherwise it is not. When the RSS men give example of the unification of two Germany, they barely overlook this theory of homogeneity there. The perspectives of unification of Germany and unification of India-Pakistan-Bangladesh are quite different.
Indian majority people are non-Semitic, but the Pak & BD counterparts are mostly Semitic. Again India is a ‘Secular’ country by constitution and Pak & BD adopted Islam as their State Religion. But, with the trumpet of “we are culturally one”, we mislead and are misled both.
Aspiration of “Akhand Bharat” is not a sin but that can’t be possible with the heaps of disillusions. For the unification of the three parts, either Pakistan and Bangladesh must be ‘Secular’ States or India must adopt “Hindu” as state religion. This is an eventual precondition for the unity of these three states and seems to be more than correct in respect of balance of the power of people. The Muslims are empowered by the state in Pakistan and Bangladesh. But, the Hindus in India are disowned by the state in many ways through a facet of secularism. The Islamic State power in Pakistan and Bangladesh cannot recognize the orphaned Hindu power in India. In other words, India must be a Hindu Rashtra constitutionally (at least “Hindu” as a state religion) before holding any bargaining power to make a “Akahnd Bharat” as such.
Now, RSS must be more serious about both their “Hindu Rashtra” concept and the vision of “Akhand Bharat”. In their 90 years journey (est. 1925), the ‘Cultural Hindu Rashtra’ concept of RSS could not save the Hindus in Bharat from communal riots, fatality, cow-slaughter, conversion, corruption, extradition, exile, contraction and so many constitutional contradictions loomed large before Hindus even after political independence. And “Akhand Bharat” becomes a fallacy best fit for the minors coming into the Sakhas.
In this juncture without mis-utilizing the people’s sentiment the BJP stalwarts from the RSS and RSS stalwarts managing the BJP, both think seriously to make Bharat as a ‘Cultural and Constitutional Hindu State’ as a precondition of making an “Akhand Bharat” in the next phase.
Taking breakfast or tea on a spot is nothing important. PM Modi took his breakfast, tea, dinner everything in Dhaka in the moth of just June this year. Is Bangladesh giving any sign to be part of “Akhand Bharat”? Killing of bloggers, Jihadi activism, atrocities of minorities, attack on temples in Bangladesh all are increasing after Modi’s visit there. So, touring all the countries in Indian subcontinent at a stretch in a day (if arranged) again would be a fallacy for making an “Akhand Bharat”.
Unless, Hindus in ‘India i.e. Bharat’ regain its full might and right as it were in pre-Islamic rule in this land and become more powerful than anti-Hindu forces dominating here, the RSS’s concept of “Hindu Rashtra’ or the “Akhand Bharat” are nothing but some conflicting ideas and errors.
RSS people must be refrained from spreading any fallacy as such. Better they must try to take initiatives to stop the fatal atrocities on Hindu-Buddhist-Christian minorities in both Pakistan and Bangladesh. They must help the victimized Tamil Hindus in Sri Lanka and see the Hindu Rashtra issue in Nepal. And obviously we have to put forth an end of bloody Jihad in this subcontinent. All these are helpful for making an “Akhand Bharat”. Not a volatile visit of any Political person.
