((((((Breaking-News)))))) Fire breaks out at ‘yagna’ organized by Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao.
HENB | Erravalli (Medak Dist) Telangana | Dec 27, 2015:: Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah and NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, Central BJP Ministers M. Venkaiah Naidu and Bandaru Dattatreya, Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu already attended the ongoing five- day ‘yagam’ being performed by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at his farm house near here. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan and his wife Vimala Narasimhan, Congress senior leader T Subbarami Reddy and several others including religious seers also attended the event at Erravelli village in neighbouring Medak district.
The ‘Ayutha Chandi Maha Yagam’, “being performed for universal good and peace”, began on December 23. Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao and Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker K Siva Prasad Rao also attended the ‘yagam’. About 2,000 pundits from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra are performing the rituals at the ‘yagam’. The Telangana Chief Minister had made it clear that no government money is being spent for the ‘yagam’.
As part of 14-day southern sojourn, Indian President Dr. Pranab Mukherjee will be attending ‘Telangana government’s Ayutha Chandi Yagam’.
By performing the five-day Ayutha Chandi Yagam on a grand scale, something that wasn’t witnessed before, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has created a new benchmark in conducting such rituals. It is said that an expenditure of Rs 7 crore is involved for this five days mega religious event.
The same ritual or any other performed by anyone in future would surely be compared to this, precisely because of its magnificence and the elaborate arrangements made for it.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sringeri Mutt, Gouri Shanker, claimed that no leader in the past two hundred years had performed Chandi Yagam on such a large scale adding that even Mysore Maharajas could not dream of performing the yagam in such a manner though they were ardent devotees of Goddess Durga for several generations.
The Chief Minister had decided to perform the yagam about four years ago when he came in contact with Sringeri Mutt, but he started planning for it from the past three months.
The opposition parties such as Congress, BJP (though their central leaders attended the Yagam!) and CPI(M) hit out at Telegana CM for allegedly misusing government machinery. The noted naxalite leader Varvara Rao also accused the CM for misusing the official machinery and public money. Opposition parties criticized exorbitant expenses like laying roads to KCR farm house, arranging public vehicles, installing mobile towers, security and logistics also be borne by the CM Though the Telangana Chief Minister had made it clear that no government money is being spent for the ‘yagam’.
The supporters of KCR and all the dignitaries and luminaries thronged to five-day Ayutha Chandi Yagam for its success and to get the Yagam blessings accordingly.
