Rajneesh Gurkha | HENB | New Delhi | July 20, 2016:: A group of Kashmiri Pandits and Hindu agitators held a protest at Teen Murti Marg here today against Pakistan’s “interference” in the internal affairs of India and open “support” to terrorists. The groups connected with Kashmir and mostly displaced Hindu Kashmiri people organised the rally against Pak observance of “Black day” against India. The protesters wanted to proceed upto Pakistan High Commission in Delhi, but restricted.
On Tuesday, a memorandum was submitted to the Pakistan High Commission All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS). AIKS is a central body for several Kashmiri Pandit organisations in India and abroad. They strongly condemned the Pakistani ploy of separation of the state through militant activities and spreading unrest in Kashmir valley.
“The protest was organised against Pakistan’s gross interference in the internal affairs of our country, as also Pakistan’s open support to known terrorists and their sympathizers in Kashmir,” AIKS said in a statement. The demonstration was earlier planned outside the Pakistan High Commission in Chanakyapuri here but police barricaded a certain stretch of Shanti Path, citing security concerns, therefore the protesters later assembled at Teen Murti Marg after submitting the memorandum to the Pak High Commission.
In an objectionable move certain to rile India, Pakistan is going ahead with its plans to observe Wednesday as “Black Day” to draw attention to what it terms are India’s alleged human rights violations in Kashmir.
Pakistan announced its decision to mark “Black Day” after a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime minister Nawaz Sharif last week declaring dead Hizbul local commander Burhan Wani as a ‘martyr’, who was killed in a recent encounter in the valley.
At least 42 people were killed in Indian Kashmir in clashes with Indian security personnel during a protest, which followed the shooting down of a the Pak sponsored militant belonging to the Hizbul Mujahideen militant group by Indian security forces earlier this month.
Condemning the proxy war launched by Pakistan against India, a memorandum was submitted to Pakistan High Commission by a delegation of AIKS, urging the Pakistani government to desist from inciting trouble and violence in Kashmir, with the objective of keeping the pot boiling in the Valley, at the cost of ordinary people of Kashmir and its youth.
The protest also raised voice for the proper rehabilitation and return of the displaced Pandits and other Hindus from the valley under a severe Jihadi threat and a genocide rather.
The displaced Kashmiri people in protest demanded an unrestricted Army operation in valley to curb the Pak sponsored Militancy in Kashmir for ever.
