HENB | New Delhi | Oct 1, 2016:: Day after India carried out surgical strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), it has emerged that Pakistan has asked the chiefs of terrorist organisations operating from its territory to lie low for the time being. It seems that Pakistan is fearing that the Indian army may now attempt to eliminate the terror chiefs.
At least Five Pak based terrorists are listed to be eliminated by ‘Indian Invisible Force (IIF)’ in Pakistan, as intercepted from a high source of an intelligence team. The list includes Dawood Ibrahim (Terror Mastermind), Masood Azhar (Jaish-e-Muhammad), Hafiz Saeed (Lashkar-e-Taiba), Fazle-ur-Rahman Khalil (Harkat-ul-Mujahideen) and Syed Salahudeen (Hizb-ul-Mujahideen).
Quoting government sources, India Today reported on Friday that Pakistani establishment has asked the terror chiefs to maintain a low profile in the wake of Indian Army’s surgical strikes. Sources told India Today that there is a strategy behind Pakistan’s plan of not publicly acknowledging the surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army.
The strategy is in consonance with the fact that Pakistan has never accepted the presence of terrorists on its land. That the country has never “owned up to Pakistani jihadi factory or a terrorist.” hence, it can’t be expected that Pakistan would accept that terrorists were killed in surgical strikes by India. As that would be “a sign of admission that there are terror camps”, in Pakistan, India Today reported.
Meanwhile, Indian government sources have said that they have photographs of the surgical strikes but they don’t want to make it public now. Following the surgical strikes, intelligence agencies have given input to the government that Pakistan-based terrorists may attack Indian assets in Afghanistan.
A day after the surgical strikes, a number of countries have shown their support in India’s fight against terrorism.
While Afghanistan openly backed India, the United States too shared its full support to India and slammed Pakistan. The US asked Pakistan to take action against UN-designated terrorist outfits and delegitimize them. It also slammed Pakistan for cross-border terrorism and reiterated its support to India on the terrorism issue.
While quitting the SAARC Summit in Pakistan, Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also released a statement on Friday condemning all forms of terrorism and stressed the need to deal with the issue in a decisive manner.
Govt. of India has also alerted the Indian State Govts to take appropriate action to curb any Islamic insurgency , if any, after the reaction of ‘surgical strikes’ in PoK.
