B Upendran | HENB | Bengaluru | Oct 27, 2016:: The Bengaluru City Police on Thursday arrested four Jihadi Muslims in connection with the murder of RSS activist and Hindu leader Rudresh R on October 16 on Kamaraj Road at Shivajinagar in the city. Rudresh was also connected with local BJP Unit.

The accused ‘ Quran followers’ have been identified as Mohammed Sadiq (35 yrs), resident of JC Nagar; Mohammed Mujibulla (44 yrs), resident of R T Nagar; Waseem Ahmed (30 yrs), resident of Austin town and Irfan Pasha (30), resident of Govindapura. All these Islamic radicals are the residents of the Bengaluru vicinity.

Rudresh (38 yrs) was murdered in the heart of Bengaluru after participating in an RSS route march at RBANMS grounds. Police commissioner N S Megharikh said Rudresh he was attacked with a machete by Waseem as he was speaking to three friends. After the murder, Waseem fled from the spot along with Mohammed Sadiq. Two others were waiting a few metres away guarding Waseem and Sadiq to give a cover to the assailant team.

RSS-BJP combine and all the Hindu fronts in Bengaluru unitedly stormed city and  nearby with a demand to arrest the perpetrators connected with Rudresh Murder. Consequently, Police and other investigation agencies had to enter the murder scene to arrest the murderers immediately.

BJP observed bandh on the day after Rudresh Murder in Shivajinagar and demanded the police to nab the culprits within a week. BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa had even threatened to launch state-wide agitation if the police failed to nab the culprits within a week. Yeddyurappa and other BJP leaders submitted a memorandum to Governor Vajubhai Rudrabhai Vala to prevail upon the state government to handover the murder case to National Investigation Agency

Investigations are on to ascertain whether the accused had links to home grown Islamic radical outfits or any link with Int’l Jihadi groups, the commissioner said. Police had formed five teams including a technical team of Central Crime Bureau to nab the accused. Police is also cross-checking the case whether it has any link rivalry of two business groups or any root in politics.
