Upendra Bharti | HENB | New Delhi | Jan 7, 2017:: Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Jitendra Singh blamed the local separatist elements for instigating the youths of Kashmir Valley for going ‘directionless’ and ‘astray’.
Jitendra Singh was speaking at a function jointly organised by Union Home Ministry and the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM)- the Muslim wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The programme was held under the banner of “Kashmiri Student’s Conference” at Mavalankar Hall of Constitution Club here on Saturday.
The MRM organised this special conference for the Kashmiri students in New Delhi today to ‘bring them into national mainstream’. The MRM had invited Kashmiri students living in Delhi and neighbouring states for the event.
Besides Dr Jitendra Singh, senior RSS functionary and MRM Patron Indresh Kumar, MRM National Convener Mohd. Afzal, BJP MP Satyapal Singh (Ex Police Commissioner of Mumbai), Administrator of Lakshadweep Farook Khan, Moulana Kaukab Mujtaba, and other dignitaries were present at the function. Kashmiri students participated in the event in large number.
Calling for normalisation of situation in the Valley, Jitendra Singh said, “I believe peace and development share a reciprocal relationship.”
Do we have plans to take care of what we already have in Jammu and Kashmir? Constructing building and creating institution are different things. We will provide initial venture fund if someone wants to begin startups in Jammu and Kashmir,” the minister in PMO said at the conference for Kashmiri students.
The MRM’s event is significant in the view of its opinion about bringing Kashmiris to the national mainstream. The MRM has been arguing for repealing Article 370, implementing Uniform Civil Code and seeking nationwide prohibition of cow slaughter.
The MRM has been active in the Kashmir Valley for some time. It also campaigned for the BJP in the last assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Saturday’s programme of “Kashmiri Student’s Conference” of MRM in the capital of India actually challenged the stands of subversive students’ pro-Azadi groups in JNU and DU who want to separate Kashmir from India.
A good participation of Kashmiri Muslim students both boys and girls showed their nationalist fervor which was also reflected through their cultural participation in the programme. The participants confirmed their faith in Indian Constitution and in rich Indian culture and heritage.
