Garibdas Pujari | HENB | Ayodhya | May 31, 2017:: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday offered prayers at the makeshift Ram temple in Ayodhya on his first visit to the town after taking charge as CM.
The visit assumes significance as it comes a day after criminal conspiracy charges were framed against top Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in the Babri mosque demolition case.
The UP chief minister, who arrived on Wednesday morning, spent around 30 minutes at the makeshift temple in the Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid complex. He later offered payers on the banks of the Saryu River also.
Adityanath began his visit by offering prayers at the Hanumangarhi Temple in the morning. From there Yogi went to pay a visit to Ramlala.
He was accompanied by Dharam Das, against whom conspiracy charges were framed on Tuesday along with the other BJP leaders. Dharam Das Ji performed the puja rituals for CM Yogi as per traditional norms.
It was the visit of any UP CM in Ram Janmabhoomi Shrine and Ramlala temple in last 15 years. CM Yogi also joined the Amrut Mahotsava (75th year birth anniversary) of Mahant Nrityagopal Das Ji, who is the Chairman of Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas (Trust), the highest responsible body to construct and maintain the Ayodhya Ram Temple matter.
CM Yogi’s visit to Ayodhya is very significant as he may contest from Ayodhya assembly segment to be elected in UP assembly.
Yogi’s Guru Mahant Avaidhynath was an icon of Ramjanmabhoomi Temple movement who had aspired to see the Ram Temple in Ayodhya in his lifetime but failed. Yogi and Avaidhynath ji are the very popular names within the Ayodhya saints circle and Ayodhya public.
From a monk source, it is known that Yogi could not control him when he was praying to Ramlala in his makeshift tent abode, treas dropped down from CM’s cheeks seeing the state of staying of Lord Ramlala!
Yogi perhaps took a vow to end this humiliation of Lord Ramlala within a year!
