1. No More Basirhat like Jihadi violence in Bengal.
2. No non-Hindu person in Hindu Temple or Puja Committees. Remove Firhad Hakim from Tarakeshwar Board or Hindus will mount Tilak on his forehead everywhere.
3. No Cow slaughter in Bengal.
Upendra Bharti | HENB | Kolkata | July 13, 2014:: In the backdrop of the recent violence at Baduria and Basirhat in North 24 Parganas district and increasing political and Islamic attacks on Hindus in Bengal in general, a day-long “Sant Sammelan” was organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Thursday. Good numbers of Hindu monks, saints and religious leaders of various Ashram, Mutt and sects of Bengal including priest heads of many temples attended the meeting held in the over crowded hall at Mahajati Sadan in north Kolkata.
Monks from Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Ramakrishna Mission, Goudiya Mutt. Prem Mandir, Mahanambrata Mission, Loknath Mission, Anandamoyee Mission and many other Hindu organistions came to a platform to condemn the attacks on Hindus and the unchecked muslim appeasement the WB Govt only to demean the Hindu people in the state.
To check the violence and atrocities upon Hindus in Bengal, the VHP has set up 40 organisational districts in West Bengal. Senior VHP leader Sachindranath Sinha said that looking at the deteriorating condition of Hindus in Bengal, one ‘Sant’ or Hindu religious leader will be made in-charge of every district, who, along with his team, will resist attack on any temple or on the Hindu populace there in the area.
“We will also organise a signature campaign to stop cow slaughter in Bengal, and submit the deputation at Nabanna, the state secretariat. Killing of cows have been stopped at nearly all states except Bengal, Kerala, and some parts of the northeast. Sadhus will gherao Nabanna, if need be,” Sinha said while addressing a gathering at Mahajati Sadan, an auditorium in north Kolkata.
He alleged that the police and administration had not been cooperative. “There has been a fear psychosis among the Hindus in Bengal. Politicians are concentrating on the 27 per cent minority vote and ignoring the 72 per cent Hindus because they are unorganised. Thus they need to be organised for their sake. We went to the police for organising a meeting to offer solidarity to the pilgrims who had been shot dead at Amarnath, but they did not grant permission,” he said.
“Three resolutions have been taken unanimously today. First, irrespective of caste, creed, and political affiliation, all Hindus should unite to protect their own interest and for their security during unrests like that in Basirhat. Second, no non-Hindu person can be made the head of any committee of a Hindu place of worship, and third, there should be a control over cow slaughtering in Bengal by shutting down illegal abattoirs in the state, like in other states,” said Bandhugaurab Maharaj, saint head of the Mahanambrata sects present in the sammelan.
The second resolution was hugely supported by the audience when a proposal from the dais came in the form to ‘mount tilak in the forehead of state minister Firhad Hakim everywhere he goes in the public’. Recently, Firhad Hakim, also known as Bobby Hakim, was appointed by WB CM Mamata Banerjee as a Chairman of Tarakeshwar Temple and Adjacent Area Development Board, where the 300 years world famous Tarakeshwar Siva Temple is situated. This decision of the State Govt injured the Hindu sentiment grossly.
Swami Atmaprakashananda, a ‘sadhu’ attending in the VHP Sant Sammelan, said that simply speeches and discussions would not help. “We need to be connected with the help of the Internet. There should be full use of social networking sites to keep each other apprised because the media will not write about the plight of Hindus,” he said.
Sourish Mukherjee, a youth co-coordinator of Kolkata VHP and Media cell in-charge told HENB, “Hindus are frustrated with the minority appeasement policy of the state and the humiliation of Hindus in various forms. Hindus in Bengal are now united to check any further violence on Hindus like at Deganga, Canning, Usthi, Samudragarh, Panchla, Kaliachak, Dhulagarh, Tehatta in the past or like Baduria-Basirhat in recent”.
The VHP Sant Sammelan at Mahajati Sadan gave a clear message in the tune of Hindu Resistance for Muslim appeasement and Jihadi violence in West Bengal henceforth.
