Preeti Malondkar | HENB | Mumbai | July 28, 2018:: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Friday questioned the use of loudspeakers for azaan and advised the Muslims to offer ‘namaz’ at home so that nobody is disturbed.
Raj Thackeray created MNS departing from Maharashtra based Hindu Political party Shiv Sena in 2006.
“I always ask Muslims, why they need loudspeakers for azaan? Who do they want to show? If they want to offer namaz do it at home, not on roads,” he added.
Raj, who was in Pune to address his partymen on Guru Purnima, said he supports reservation only on economic grounds. He said youths should understand the reservation issue instead of getting carried away by political leaders who are spreading hatred among castes to protect their vote base.
Last year, the star Bollywood singer Sanu Nigam raised the same issue of stopping Azan through loudspeaker+ which creates noise pollution and disturbance to many individuals likely not to bear it for many reasons.
Then Sonu Nigam tweeted, “God bless everyone. I’m not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India”
As the star singer was vehemently trolled in twitter after raising the issue in the social media platform, he kept off the tweet and shaved his head in a protest.
As per records, it is seen that many times the mosques loud speakers are used for inciting Muslims against non-Muslims to generate riot situation and offerings of Namaz in roads create heavy traffic disorder and public scuffle leading to communal rifts in India.
Many Courts in India already passed orders to control mosque loud-speakers+ ,[1][2] but, the prevailing appeasement policy in politics never objected the nuisance of uncontrollable Azan (adhan) in loudspeakers of Mosques and the Namaz offered on roads+.

agree with sajal, they have done nothing like bal Thackeray, who had promised that loudspeakers will be banned when they come to power in the state, but nothing done, I hope that this nuisance of namaz is stopped as well as use of loudspeakers for azan.. as for people who say that loudspeakers to be banned for all religions, no we are a hindu rashtra and we must and will celebrate all festivals with the use of loudspeakers and unfortunately, the courts have been against us ….those who want pray on the road / or use loudspeakers, should leave india and go to pakistan
