Ananta Das  | HENB | Dhaka | February 6, 2020:: Havoc persecution on Hindus in Islamic Bangladesh continues from the day of its formation. In a recent incident, which was completely ignored by media, On January 24, 2020 some suspected jihadi perpetrators from the majority killed a minority Hindu youth named Sridham Rishi Das in Bajitpur Upazila of Kishoreganj district. It was reported by Joyonta Karmoker, an activist of BDMW (an organization working for welfare of minorities in Bangladesh) on February 6 in his twitter handle, after police took cognizance of the brutal murder of a minority Hindu youth aged about 35 yrs.

The incident took place near Rishipara Mukundpur ground. Police informed to BDMW, they have arrested a accused Mohd Sohrab and informed BDMW that further investigation is underway, the body of the deceased has already been sent to Kishoregonj morgue for autopsy.

BDMW President Advocate Rabindra Ghosh demanded proper investigation of the case by Bangladesh Police on an urgent basis to arrest all the culprits behind the murder of Sridham Rishi Das.

As per the statement of Md. Khalilur Rahaman, Officer in Charge of Bajitpur police station given to BDMW, it can be understood that in this connection a case [PS Case No. 11 dated 26.2.2020 under section 302 (Punishment for murder) & 34 (Criminal act is done by several persons) of Bangladesh Penal Code] has been registered at Bajitpur PS according to a complaint filed by Bibash Chandra Rishi Das, the elder brother of the deceased.
