HJS Media | Haridwar | March 5, 2020:: Former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes shared a beautiful picture from his visit to Rishikesh for the International Yog Festival as he got the opportunity to take a dip in the holy Ganga river, reported by Times Now.
Giving a glimpse of his experience from the festival, Rhodes shared a picture of him submerged in the Ganges river in Rishikesh. He captioned the picture: “Benefits of cold water immersion in the Holy Ganges are both physical and spiritual #moksha #rishikesh #internationalyogfestival.”
The International Yog Festival 2020+ got underway in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand on March 1 and will see its conclusion on March 7. The former Proteas star arrived in India to participate in the same.
The cricket icon of South Africa for test and one-day series has confessed his love for India and it’s Hindu culture and tradition and that’s why he named his daughter ‘India Jeanne Rhodes’ after she was born in 2016, reported by Hindu Existence.
Jonty Rhodes had performed puja for his daughter India Jeanne Rhodes at Pejawar Mutt in Santacruz, Mumbai in May 2016.
“I have spent a lot of time here. What I love about India is that it’s a rich mix of culture, heritage and tradition. It is a very spiritual country, very forward-thinking nation. I really like that combination. You have to have a good balance of life,” he had said in an interview in 2015.
“What we really like about India is that everyday we discover something new about this country. As people, we like discovering things about yourself and that’s hopefully what she (the baby) will also discover,” Rhodes said then.
