Srijan Tiwari | HENB | Varanasi | Jan 31, 2022:: Union minister and BJP leader Ashwini Kumar Choubey termed the Congress’s attempt to raise the issue of Hindu and Hindutva during elections as a bid to create an atmosphere among a community to stay away from the Bharatiya Janata Party. According to Choubey, the ‘Hindu-Hindutva’ debate created by Congress is nothing but an ideological crisis in the party controlled by a family with fake Gandhi surname.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, Choubey said that the bid to differentiate Hindu and Hindutva is only showing frustration of the Congress. “It is an attempt to ensure that a particular community stays away from us in view of its increasing faith in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ideology of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikash , Sabka Vishwas ,’” said Choubey reacting over the repeated bid of fanning the slogan of Hindu and Hindutva by the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Choubey, who holds portfolio of minister of state for consumer affairs , food and public distribution and environment, forest and climate change, highlighted the achievements and development works done by the BJP led governments at the Centre and Uttar Pradesh and claimed that the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will retain power with two-third majority in coming UP election.

On Congress star campaigner and the Patidar leader from Gujarat Hardik Patel mentioning Lord Ram as Hindu and Ravana as Hindutvawadi, during his stay in the city here on Sunday, Choubey said, “He (Hardik Patel) should first go through Ramayan before making such comments. He is a nausikhia (novice) and trying his luck in such a party of the Congress, which will witness its candidates losing their deposits in assembly election in UP.”

Earlier, on the somber occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary on Sunday, ex-Congress chief Rahul Gandhi yet again raised the Hindutva Vs Hindu debate.

He remarked that a ‘Hindutvawadi’ (Nathuram Godse) had killed Gandhi, adding that Bapu was still alive in the truth. The Wayanad MP also paid his respects to the Mahatma at Rajghat. 30 January observed as ‘Shaheed Diwas’ marks the death anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi after he was shot dead by Nathuram Godse on this day in 1948.

Responding Rahul Gandhi, RSS ideologue and BJP Rajya Sabha MP Rakesh Sinha questioned if there was a clear lapse in the security of Mahatma Gandhi, alleging late PM Jawaharlal Nehru’s involvement for that. Targetting Rahul Gandhi, VHP spokesperson Vinod Bansal said that all ‘fake’ Gandhis should change their surname as they were neither Gandhi followers nor followed Gandhi’s Hindutva.
