Varanasi court refuses to remove court commissioner, added two more commissioners; survey to be completed by 17th May.

Gyanvapi VerdictUpendra Bharti | HENB | Varanasi | May 12, 2022:: A Varanasi civil judge’s court in Uttar Pradesh has said the court commissioner won’t be removed and asked the survey to be completed within May 17 in connection with the case related to the survey inside the Gyanvapi Mosque.

Two more lawyers have been appointed as commissioners to accompany the Court commissioner Ajay Mishra for the survey. The commission will submit the report by May 17 before the court, said Advocate Madan Mohan Yadav, representing Hindu petitioners in court.

The decision of the Varanasi District Court has come in the matters related to the request for videography and survey to be done inside the Gyanvapi campus located in Varanasi and to replace Advocate Commissioner AK Mishra appointed for it. Accordingly, the demand for change of court commissioner has been rejected. On the other hand, the survey of Gyanvapi will be done again within May 17.

The survey is being done on the Varanasi district court’s order following a plea by Delhi-based women Rakhi Singh, Laxmi Devi, Sita Sahu and others seeking permission to have daily darshan, pooja (worship) and perform all the rituals of Maa Shringar Gauri, Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman and other “visible and invisible deities within old temple complex” situated at settlement plot no. 9130 in the area of Dashwamedh ward and police station.
