India 75: PM Modi explored Hindutva inspiration in his Independence speech.

PM Modi mentions Nehru in I-day speech after Savarkar; many Hindutva icons referred. PM urges ‘Panchpran’ (5 pledges) in RSS line to make India a developed nation in 25 years.

A day after the BJP blamed first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for the partition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned his name in his speech while paying tributes to the freedom fighters who fought for the nation during his Independence Day speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort.

Pm ModiUpendra Bharti | HENB | New Delhi | Aug 15, 2022:: A day after the BJP blamed first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for the partition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned his name in his speech while paying tributes to the freedom fighters who fought for the nation during his 76th Independence Day speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort.

As India completes 75 years of its Independence, Prime Minister Modi said, “We should remember those who fought for Independence and built the nation — Dr Rajendra Prasad, Nehru ji, Sardar Patel, Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Deendayal Upadhyaya, Jai Prakash Narayan, Ram Manohar Lohia, Vinoba Bhave, Nanaji Deshmukh, Subramaniam Bharati — it is the day to bow before such great people.”

But, before mentioning Nehru, Modi paid tributes to Savarkar and said the people of the country are thankful to Bapu, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Veer Savarkar who gave their lives on the path of duty. “Kartvya path hi unka jeevan path raha,” he said.

The Prime Minister also mentioned Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Sidhu Kanhu, Alluri Sitaram, Raju, Govind Guru — “there are many names who became the voice of the freedom struggle and had inspired the tribal community to live and die for Mother India (Bharat Mata).”

In his original temperament and lucid articulation PM Modi mentioned the Hindutva icons in his Independence Day Speech ranging Shyama Prasad Mookerjee (Hindu Mahasabha and Jansangh leader), V D Savarkar (The Hindutva Theorist), Deendayal Upadhyaya (Integral Humanism Ideologue) and Nanaji Deshmukh (RSS leader and Social Reformer) as well.

He said every Indian is filled with pride when they remember the strength of Rani Laxmibai, Jhalkari Bai, Chennamma, Begum Hazrat Mahal. He said the nation is also thankful to revolutionaries like Mangal Pandey, Tatya Tope, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Chandrashekhar Azad, Ashfaqullah Khan, Ram Prasad Bismil who shook the very foundation of British Rule.

Arriving at the Red fort, PM Modi inspected the guard of honour while Mi17 helicopters showered petals during the event.

In his speech PM Modi aspires make India a developed Country within 25 years more when it will celebrate the Centenary of Indian Independence. He gave a clarion call for moving forward with 5 pledges to fulfill freedom fighters’ dreams by 2047.

“I urge youth to dedicate the next 25 years of their lives for the nation’s development; we should work towards the development of entire humanity,” the PM said.

Modi said India will have to move ahead with big goals to fulfill the vision of a developed India in the centenary year of its Independence.

In the coming years, the PM said we have to take ‘Panchpran’: First, move forward with bigger resolves and resolve of a “developed” India; second, erase all traces of servitude; third, be proud of our legacy; fourth, the strength of our unity and fifth, duties of citizens which include the PM and CMs.

This ‘Panchpran’ (Five pledges) for 1. Goal of Developed India 2. Remove all traces of colonial mindset 3. Take pride in our roots 4 Unity and 5. Sense of Duty among the citizens found very much similar to the goal of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha (RSS) as 1. Param Vaibhavshali Rashtra (Developed India) 2. Das/Videshi Bhab ka bahishkar (Removing colonial mindset) 3. Bhart-mool me garv (Pride in our root/legacy) and 5. Kartavyabodh ( Sense of Duty among the citizens).

In another way, PM Modi clarified the stand of his Govt and Party to keep faith on Hindutva defined as unbiased Patriotism and placed Nation’s Charter to achieve the position of India as Vishwa Guru (Mentor of the World).

When dreams are big, hard work is important; it needs to be inspired by pledge, and determination of freedom fighters who dreamt of a free India, the PM added.

Modi said the world looked at India with pride and hope, and as a problem-solver. “The world looks at India as a destination where aspirations are met,” he said.

Earlier, the PM said that India is the mother of democracy and diversity is its greatest strength. India is an aspirational society and the world is looking at us with great expectations, the PM said.

In his speech, PM also vehemently attacked on family dynasty in politics and corruption in all ranges.
