The BJP rebel KS Iswarappa will fight from Shivamogga to restore Hindutva in Karnataka.

A struggle for Hindutva: As an independent candidate, the BJP rebel Iswarappa will fight in Shivamogga, he gave a blow to the BJP’s patriarchy and nepotism. 

B Upendran | HENB | Bengaluru | March 13, 2024:: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka and rebel BJP leader with Hindutva repute KS Eshwarappa is  contesting from Shivmoga parliamentary seat in Karnataka as an independent candidate. On Friday morning Eshwarappa said that he has submitted nomination papers as an independent candidate from Shivmoga Lok Sabha constituency. He said, “I am contesting the election as an independent candidate and will win. People and workers are with me and I will go to PM Modi after winning”.

It is to be noted that BJP has fielded BY Raghavendra, son of former Karnataka chief minister and BJP leader BS Yediyurappa, from Shivmoga Lok Sabha seat. Iswarappa is opposing that.

Taking a jab at patriarchy and nepotism, Eshwarappa said, ” Prime Minister Narendra Modi says a party should not be in the hands of a family, but in Karnataka BS Yediyurappa’s son is the BJP president and another is an MP. I am competing against it. Secondly, Hindutvawadi leaders like CT Ravi, Ananthkumar Hegde, Nalin Kumar Katil, Pratap Simha were  kept out of the election fray. I am doing it so that the ‘Hindutvanduvadis’ get a place. Hindutvawadi workers in Karnataka are angry with BJP leaders”.

On rebel BJP leader KS Eshwarappa’s decision to contest from Shivamoga Lok Sabha seat as an independent candidate, his son Kantesh Eshwarappa said, “This decision is not against the party. It is against family politics. This decision is against Yediyurappa’s family. We have to save BJP in Karnataka. And my father is doing that. My father’s vote will be the first vote for Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2024 elections…Many ‘Hindutvandu’ leaders are standing by him. My father will win from here and Raghavendra (BJP’s candidate) will come third.”

Though it is an uphill task, Eshwarappa dreams of a win  to restore the Hindutva in the BJP in Karnataka.
