Bhagwat’s ‘Needs No Declaration’ Remark Blocks Path to Real Hindu Rashtra in Bharat.

RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement, “India is already a Hindu Rashtra, no formal declaration needed,”  is an effort to put hurdles to make a Practical Hindu Rashtra in Bharat.

Upananda Brahmachari | HENB | New Delhi | April 30, 2026:: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat asserted on Monday that India is inherently a Hindu Rashtra and does not require any formal declaration to establish this truth. He made these remarks while addressing a programme in Nagpur organised by the RSS and Dr Hedgewar Smarak Samiti to felicitate those involved in the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

In this way, the RSS Chief wanted to damage the demand of a Cultural, Constitutional and Sovereign Hindu Rashtra in Bharat. This demand is verily needed to make India a valid safe and secure place for over 1 billion Hindu people without diminishing their religious and existential rights forever.

Speaking at Reshimbagh, Bhagwat praised the collective effort behind the temple’s construction. The commitment of the political leadership and the enthusiastic support of the entire nation built the temple.

The building of the Ram Temple is not merely a political achievement. It is a profound spiritual accomplishment driven by Lord Ram’s divine will.

“The temple was built due to the commitment of those in power and the support of everyone in the country,” Bhagwat said. He compared the national participation to the lifting of Govardhan. Such monumental tasks succeed only when the entire society contributes wholeheartedly.

Bhagwat connected the Ram Temple movement to the broader resurgence of Sanatan Dharma and India’s civilizational revival. Referring to the thoughts of Sri Aurobindo, he noted that the revival of Sanatan Dharma is inseparable from the resurgence of the Indian nation.

The process of national awakening began long ago. It was guided by collective resolve and divine grace.

Highlighting a significant milestone, Bhagwat referred to the 2014 general elections. A foreign newspaper observed that Indians had finally bid goodbye to the British era.Political independence came in 1947. True civilizational confidence was asserted decades later.

Committed Leadership Made It Possible

Political will was critical in realizing the temple. If those in power were not committed, the temple would not have been built. The long-standing Ram Janmabhoomi movement alone would not have sufficed without strong support from the government.

Bhagwat reminded the audience that the temple’s construction is only one step in a larger journey. He said, ideas of Ram temple once mocked are now widely accepted by many. Every citizen must contribute towards making India more prosperous, culturally vibrant, and spiritually strong. “They have done their work; now we must do ours,” he said, calling for the establishment of Dharma and India’s greater contribution to the world.

No Need to Declare What Already Exists

There is no need for any formal proclamation declaring India a Hindu Rashtra. “The Sun rises in the east—do we need to declare it?” he remarked. “Similarly, Bharat is a Hindu Rashtra. There is no need to declare what is already true.”

But the RSS Chief undermines one thing. The ‘rising of the sun’ is a natural phenomenon and accepted by all without contradiction or confrontation. But the ‘existence of Hindu Rashtra in Bharat’ and Hindutva is not accepted by all in Bharat or the world and is challenged by many people. So, establishing the truth of Hindu Rashtra in Bharat must be represented in front of all. This signifies the need of the hour to declare a Hindu Rashtra in Bharat constitutionally with sovereign status.

Need of a declared Hindu Rashtra in Bharat

The majority Hindus are not safe and secured with their full dharmik and faith rights in Bharat. In all the Muslim majority pockets in India, Hindus are treated as Dhimmi and a second class citizen. Their status is worsening in the states of Jammu and Kashmir, many states in North East India, in parts of Kerala and West Bengal. They are subjected and subjugated under the Islamic and Christian influence prevailed there. Many Islamic and Catholic organisations openly declare India to be made soon as Sharia or Christian states under their Jihadi or Evangelist activism. So, the need for a declared Hindu state is a right and justified demand for the Hindus and cannot be denied anyway.

India was divided upon the ‘Two Nation’ theory: one for Muslims and other for Hindus. Muslims got their shares as Islamic Pakistan and Bangladesh. Hindus did not get any Hindu state for them under natural justice. Moreover, the existence of more than 115 Christian states, 57 Islamic states, 12 Buddhist states and even 1 Jewish State as Israel in this world proves the point. There is no declared Hindu State or Hindu Rashtra in Bharat. Now, RSS Chief is trying to denounce this legitimate claim of a Cultural-Constitutional-Sovereign Hindu Rashtra in Bharat in a very dangerous way.

This stand of RSS deprives Hindus of their right to have a ‘Cultural-Constitutional-Sovereign Hindu Rashtra in Bharat’. It is nothing but a secular pretence of the organisation to appease the Muslims and Christians of India. The century old organisation also runs ‘Rashtriya Muslim Manch’ and ‘Isai Rashtriya Manch’. RSS has stepped down from its earlier ideology to make Bharat a practical Hindu Rashtra for this reason.The present generation RSS leadership is incapable and has chosen the policy of secularism only to dupe and deprive Hindus from their genuine claim of Hindu Rashtra. This is a very sinister way of political collaboration with its political wing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

RSS concept of Hindu Rashtra is now shaped as a half-hearted and false idea. Only the ‘cultural Hindu Rashtra’ concept of RSS is not a practical solution to the Hindu Rashtra crisis in India. Hindus must fight for the real concept of Hindu Rashtra in India as a cultural, constitutional, and righteous Hindu Rashtra. That should have the international recognition as a Sovereign Hindu Rashtra also. Leaving RSS, many Hindu organizations like Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Sanatan Sanstha, AntarRashtiya Hindu Parishad, and Hindu Mahasabha have demanded a constitutional Hindu Rashtra in India in various public meetings. This demand for a practical Hindu Rashtra cannot be denied anyway.

There is no other option than this. In a Hindu Rashtra, cow slaughter, love jihad, land jihad, corporate Jihad, conversion, starvation, corruption, appeasement, sar-tan-se-juda, halal, halala, molestation, and rape of women cannot happen. The idea of a constitutionally unprotected Hindu Rashtra as RSS’ Chief Bhagwat advocating is an indulgence of Islamic and Christian excess in India. It hurts and harms the Hindus of Bharat in a very dangerous way. Imagining a Hindu Rashtra with all these evils is not a practical Hindu Rashtra. So, a demand of a Hindu Rashtra, a cultural-constitutional-sovereign Hindu Rashtra, which can stop all these evils, must be supported. All the Hindu organizations including RSS must support it.

So, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement, “India is inherently a Hindu Rashtra and does not require any formal declaration to establish this truth”, is nothing but an effort to put hurdles to make a Practical Hindu Rashtra in Bharat.

Some critics say that under some invisible Islamist, Christian, and secular influence, RSS is gradually distancing itself from its core Hindutva ideology of Rashtrabodh (perception of Nation) and Shatrubodh (perception of enemies). Now this is often reflected through the statements of RSS leaders. ‘No need of declaring Bharat as a Hindu Rashtra’ is such a reflection by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, only to demoralize Hindus from their genuine claim of declaring Bharat as a ‘Cultural, Constitutional and Sovereign Hindu Rashtra’. It’s both pathetic and unfortunate.
