Hindu Woman Alleges Forced Conversion, Five Nikahs and Three Halalas Over 13 Years; FIR Filed Against 16 Muslims in Ghaziabad.

Suhita Pandey | HENB | Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh | May 14, 2026::  A 31-year-old Hindu woman from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, has alleged that she was subjected to forced religious conversion, repeated sexual assault, physical abuse, and multiple forced marriages over a span of 13 years after being lured into a relationship by a man who allegedly concealed his identity on social media.

The case, which has now led to the registration of an FIR against 16 individuals in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district, includes allegations of forced conversion, rape, confinement, assault, triple talaq, and repeated “halala” arrangements. Police have arrested one accused, identified as Khalid Hussain, while investigations against the remaining accused are ongoing.

Online Friendship Allegedly Turned Into Years of Abuse

According to the complaint filed at Ankur Vihar Police Station on May 5, 2026, the woman stated that she came into contact with a man identifying himself as “Naveen Rana” through Facebook in 2012. The accused allegedly presented himself as a Hindu man from Muzaffarnagar.

In 2013, he reportedly invited the woman to Delhi. However, after she arrived, she was allegedly taken to a madrasa in the Falat area of Muzaffarnagar, where she discovered that the man’s real name was Naved.

The complainant alleged that she was confined at the madrasa and pressured to convert to Islam. She further claimed that she was forced to wear a burqa, offer namaz, and adopt Islamic practices against her will. Whenever she resisted, she was allegedly assaulted and threatened.

Allegations of Forced Conversion and First Marriage

The woman alleged that a cleric identified as Maulana Kaleem Siddiqui forcibly converted her to Islam. According to the complaint, she was later shifted to another madrasa in Meerut, where she remained for approximately six months before being brought back to Falat.

Thereafter, she was allegedly married against her will to a cleric named Maulana Abdur Rahman, who was reportedly around 25 years older than her.

In her statement, the complainant accused Abdur Rahman of repeatedly raping and assaulting her. She alleged that she was stripped naked and beaten whenever she resisted or objected to religious practices imposed upon her.

The woman further alleged that within two months of the marriage, Abdur Rahman divorced her through triple talaq and abandoned her.

Alleged Halala and Second Marriage

Following the divorce, the complainant stated that she was compelled to observe a three-month iddat period at the Falat madrasa. She was subsequently taken to Jaipur, where she alleged she was subjected to “halala” and sexually exploited for several days.

A few months later, in 2015, she was reportedly taken to Shamli and married to another man identified as Mudassir. After the nikah, she was allegedly shifted to Gujarat. According to the complaint, Mudassir died in 2019.

Third Marriage and Allegations of Gangrape

After Mudassir’s death, the woman alleged that another cleric, identified as Qari Aslam, took her to a madrasa in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh area before shifting her to Baghpat, where her third marriage was allegedly arranged with Khalid Hussain.

The complainant alleged that after moving to Ghaziabad with Khalid, she faced continuous harassment from his family members. In 2022, Khalid allegedly divorced her through triple talaq.

However, according to the FIR, Khalid later sought to remarry her and allegedly forced her into another halala arrangement. The woman stated that her fourth nikah was conducted with Khalid’s brother-in-law, Fakhruddin.

During this period, she alleged that Khalid and his brother Saqib gangraped her. After Fakhruddin allegedly divorced her, she was reportedly told she could remarry Khalid, leading to what the complainant described as her fifth nikah.

Escape and Police Complaint

The woman stated that she eventually managed to escape from Khalid’s residence and sought assistance from BJP MLA Nand Kishor. With support from local leaders, she filed a formal complaint at Ankur Vihar Police Station.

The FIR names 16 accused, including:

Police officials confirmed that Khalid Hussain has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody. Authorities stated that further investigation is underway and action will be taken against other accused individuals based on evidence collected during the probe.

Investigation Underway

Police have not yet publicly disclosed the specific sections under which the FIR has been registered. Officials said statements are being recorded and evidence related to the allegations is being examined.

The case has drawn significant public attention due to the seriousness of the allegations involving forced conversion, repeated marriages, alleged misuse of religious practices, sexual violence, and prolonged confinement across multiple states.

Authorities have indicated that additional arrests may follow as the investigation progresses.
