Repression upon Hindu Leaders in WB Unabated.

HJS | Goa |  July 7, 2015:: Devout Hindu Activist and Bhavani Sena Leader Shri Pratap Hazra was arrested  today (7 July 2015) around 9 AM from Diamond Harbour railway station road by DSP Falta, as reported. He was arrested in connection with the Usthi PS Case No. 65/2015 (Usthi Riot). He was produced at Diamond Harbour Criminal Court today and Hon’ble ACJM, Mr Ashis Gupta allowed 6 days police remand which was objected by the Ld. Advocates Mr Amitabha Sikder, Mr Shankar Narayan Manna and Mr Tapan Biswas. The next date of production is fixed on 13/07/2015. Shri. Hazra is now at DH Police Station under police custody and his health is all right as per source.

SRI PRATAP HAZRA CASE UPDATES: 

1. On Monday (July 13, 2015),Sri Pratap Hazara was produced to DH ACJM Court after the completion of 6 days police remand. In this phase of Police custody, Sri Hazra was interrogated by the DSP Falta and the IO of Usthi PS Case No 65/2015 (USTHI RIOT JAN 2015). The forwarding report submitted by the police to the Hon’ble does not include any recovery nor any adversity so far. Only an apprehension of communal tension (‘breach of peace’) is mentioned in the police report.

Mr Amitabha Sikdar and Mr Shankar Manna, Ld. Advocates moved the bail petition and pleaded to end the detention of Shri Hazra. Honb’le ACJM ordered Jail Custody for 14 days and fixed the date of next hearing on 27.07.2015.

The huge numbers of villagers of Usthi and nearby thronged to DH Cr Court to see Sri Hazra under custody. Many local activists and Hindu leaders of Bhavani Sena, RSS, BJP also came to DH Cr Court to see Hazra.

South 24 Pgs (East) Dist BJP and BJYM leaders told that the arrest of Pratap Hazra is planned, motivated and only to appease the Muslims for vote bank politics.
