HENB | Kolkata | July 31, 2016:: For the first time of Inter-school Sudha Tripathi Memorial Gita Knowledge Competition, Sankhnaad Samrasata Mission successfully involved thousand of students of 60 schools in six districts this year. The prize giving ceremony was held in Govind Bhawan, Kolkata on Sunday to facilitate the top competitors along with the schools who attracted maximum numbers of student for the competition.
WB governor, Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi graced the occasion as main speaker in the prize distribution and felicitation programme of Sudha Tripathi Memorial Gita Knowledge Competition in the memory of his wife who passed away just 1st February this year.
Swami Nityarupananda, Secy of Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission, Barrackpore was present in the occasion as chief guest, while the programme was chaired by Shri Keshoram Agarwal, one of the prominent trustee of Gita Press.
The competition digged an interest among the student for knowing the ethos and importance Gita. Many Muslim students also participated in the competition successfully and bagged prizes with honor.
In his maiden speech, WB Governor judged Gita as the way of excellence of work and the path of enticement of individual and supreme in a realm of self realization and sacrifice both. Tripathi mentioned the relevance of Gita as the synthesis of yoga in all modalities of Knowledge (Gyan), Work (Karma) and Worship (submission). He also described Gita as the medium of world peace and universal brotherhood.
Sankhnaad Mission is planning to start weekly Gita classes in 100 places in WB this year with the help of Govind Bhawan, Kolkata, which is the HQ of Gita Press, Gorakhpur.
