B Upendran | HENB | Thiruvananthapuram | April 9, 2017:: The Thiruvananthapuram Branch of world renowned Bharat Sevashram Sangha will organise a month-long summer camp for yoga, pranayama and meditation for students from today. The formal inauguration of the camp will be held on the BSS premises at Bund Road, Ambalathara at 9 am. There will be no charge to join this camp.
Brahmachari Sukdev, branch in charge, told HENB that they are trying to set up a permanent yoga centre which will be open to all free of cost. In an appeal, Brahmachari requested the noble souls to contribute for the purpose. The Thiruvanathapuram (Trivandrum) branch of BSS conducted a weel long yoga Camp in previous year also.
Brahmachari also said the BSS had already set up its ashrams in Rameshwaram and Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu where pilgrims and students are provided with free accommodation.
The Thiruvananthapuram centre has been offering accommodation to patients and bystanders who visit Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) from states like Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and North-eastern states.
Brahmachari Sukdev said students from other states can also avail accommodation facility at the ashram.
The BSS has over 100 ashrams across India, including foreign units in Bangladesh, US, UK, Canada, South America, Fiji and Nepal. Beside these ashrams, BSS has more than 200 units of Hindu Milan Mandir (regular centers for physical exercise and Indian marshal arts, Hindu puja and aarti and social service programmes) in rural India.
Bharat Sevashram Sangha was established by Acharya Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj (1896- 1941) in 1917 which has completed the centenary for its glorious spiritual and social services.
