Upendra Bharati | HENB | Kolkata | Sept 9, 2017:: Lunatic WB CM Mamata Banerjee’s Clown, State Education Minister Partha Chatterjee is again in the show of Anti-Modi Circus in Bengal.
After ignoring the Centre’s circular for ‘Sankalp se Siddhi’ on Independence Day celebration in schools+, the West Bengal government had locked horns with it over observing Teachers’ Day and rejected the central celebration of ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’+. Now the row is included the boycotting of PM Modi’s speech in the event of 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicaho address to the World Parliament of Religions.
Taking the Centre head-on once again, the West Bengal government has directed all the universities and colleges under its jurisdiction to ignore the directive of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to arrange for the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech on September 11 on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s address to the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago.
Speaking at a press conference here Friday, West Bengal education minister Partha Chatterjee hit out at the Centre for attempts to ‘saffronise’ the education system. “The Centre cannot do it without informing or without taking the concurrence of the state government concerned. It is not acceptable to us, since we feel that this is a clear attempt of saffronisation of education. The colleges and universities in the state got puzzled by the UGC circular and they approached us regarding it. I clearly told them that there is no necessity to adhere to the UGC directive,” he said.
The Centre had sent notices to more than 40,000 colleges and universities asking them to live telecast the speech of the Prime Minister. The West Bengal government’s defiant response is in line with its earlier call to ignore the Centre’s directive to all schools in the country to build ‘patriotic fervour’ before the Independence Day.
The Centre had asked the schools to administer the ‘Sankalp ke Siddhi’ pledge to students in order to make them aware of the ‘New India Mission’ of the Prime Minister and celebrate patriotism with events organised between August 9 and 30 in the respective schools. The West Bengal government had then rejected the central government’s directive stating that it does not need ‘lessons on patriotism’ from the BJP.
Likewise, Mamata Govt rejected the activities for ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ from September 1 to 15 in the school areas. It also asked states to report the action taken by September 15. “Photographs, videos, film etc together with highlights of the Pakhwada may be uploaded on the SSA (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan) Shagun portal every day during the Pakhwada,” the Union government’s letter stated. But, WB Education Minister had stated a complete refusal of the Central programme saying, “We are not responsible to promote Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”.
The Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government has resisted multiple central government directives that it said were ‘bulldozed upon the states’ by ignoring the federal structure of the country, which the Trinamool Congress alleged the BJP government at the Centre was trying to decimate.
It is very ridiculous that Mamata Banerjee and her clowns are always trying hard to mention “Saffronisation in Education” even through Central programmes like Independence Day, Teacher’s Day or Swamiji’s Chicago Address celebrations.
Boycotting PM Modi’ s speech on 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s address to the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago, is just creating another example to harm the Center-State relationship in a very crazy manner by the State of West Bengal ruled by Mamata Banerjee and her ministers.
The contra effect for ‘Worshiping only Mamata’ and ‘Condemning Modi’ in every matters will cost heavily for the fragile future of TMC and its demigoddess Mamata Banerjee.
While contacted, a senior monk of Ramakrishna Mission Belur Math vehemently condemned the attitude of State Govt to ignore the PM Modi’s speech on Swamiji’s Chicago Address. “Apart from politics, Modi is an ardent follower of Swami Vivekananda and President or Prime Minister’s address on important topic like Swami Vivekananda can’t be ignored anyway. It gives a bad message if ignored”, the monk attached to Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University+ told HENB.
From reliable sources it is gathered that many Central Universities and State controlled colleges in West Bengal are preparing to ignore to State dictum and will share the Live telecast of Modi’s speech on Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Address.
