Dharam Sabha in Ayodhya on Super Sunday: Top developments and reactions.  Hindu Saints gave ultimatum to clear hurdles of Ram Mandir within 48 hours. 

Two days before the planned ‘Dharam Sabha’ in Ayodhya on Nov 25, political leaders have raised the pitch for Ram Temple with a flurry of statements and activities. Here is a look at all the top developments and reactions.

Ramanand Trivedi | HENB | Ayodhya | Nov 23, 2018:: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) backed by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) are due to hold a ‘Dharam Sabha’ on Sunday to press for an early construction of a Ram temple.

Several trains, buses, tractor trolleys, taxis have been booked by the organisers to ferry people from across the state to be part of the congregation, which the VHP has announced would be “the last before the war bugle is sounded.”

RSS has pumped in its might to make the Sunday event a success and has divided the 200­km area around Ayodhya into 1,000 sections wherein processions, door ­to­ door campaigns, bike rallies and processions are being held to mobilise the Hindus.

Police sources said there would be over two lakh people converging on Ayodhya on what is now being called the ‘Super Sunday’.

* Government on alert

Government sources said local intelligence units have been “alerted” and extra security deployment has been made ahead of the Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray’s visit to the town.

The Yogi Adityanath government is treading with caution. On the one hand, the government has said that “Ram bhakts” can gather in Ayodhya and perform rituals, on the other, it has asked the police and the district administration to be extra vigilant.

On Friday the temple town turned into a fortress with the police dividing Ayodhya into eight zones and 16 sectors.

The state government has also increased the number of provincial armed constabulary (PAC) from 20 to 48.

“BJP does not believe in either SC or constitution. BJP can go to any extent. The kind of environment there is in UP, especially in Ayodhya, the Supreme Court should take notice of it and bring Army if necessary.”

We just took only 17 minutes to destroy disputed Babri structure. Then how much time to be taken for a  law on Ram Temple. Today, from UP to President’s house, BJP is everywhere. Even there many supporters of Ram mandir in Rajya Sabha (upper house of parliament). It will be difficult for them to go any part of the country, if they protest Ram Mandir. Then what is the problem to construct Ram mandir in Ayodhya in this time, Raut told in a press conference today in Ayodhya.

* Dharam Sabha ‘last effort’ to clear the hurdle in Ram Temple’s construction: VHP

The organisation said that the meeting has been called to discuss a strategy for the early construction of the temple. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) said on Friday that the scheduled ‘Dharam Sabha’ in Ayodhya on Sunday was its “last effort” to clear the hurdles for the construction of a Ram temple in the temple town. There would be no more congregations and the next stop for them would be the beginning of the temple’s construction.

“There would no more meetings, processions and protests for Ram temple, opponents will no longer be engaged with… There will only be temple construction,” he added. This sounds like an ultimatum for Ram Temple.

Hindu Saint made his pyre for self sacrifice in fire

Swami Paramhans Das, who sat on fasting unto death with the demand of early construction of Ram Temple, today performed rites to sanctify his pyres for own cremation, if Govt wouldn’t declare positive steps to start Ram Temple with in 6th Dec. Earlier, Ayodhya police lifted the saint from his Ashram to stop his fasting and admitted into a hospital a month ago. This create a panic to a section of police, as reported.

* Shiv Sena asks BJP for the ordinance, date for Ram temple construction

The Shiv Sena asked the BJP to come out with an ordinance and declare a date for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. While slamming the BJP, the Shiv Sena said those in power should be proud of Shiv Sainiks who had “destroyed Babur’s raj in Ram Janmabhoomi”. In an editorial in party mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, the Sena said it neither moves around with a begging bowl asking for votes in the name of Lord Ram nor does it indulge in “jumlebaazi” (rhetoric) during polls.

* 1992 could be repeated in Ayodhya during ‘Dharam Sabha’: BJP MLA

Controversial BJP MLA Surendra Singh has warned that 1992 could be repeated in Ayodhya, if required, during a “Dharam Sabha” to be held November 25.

Taking part in a rally to mobilise people for the event, the BJP lawmaker told reporters Thursday that 5,000 people from his constituency, Bariya, would travel to participate in the “Dharam Sabha” where the issue of Ram temple’s construction would be taken up by saffron outfits. He said, “law and order is not an issue as far as Lord Ram is concerned…he will take care of it”. Singh said if the need arose, they would take the law into their hands for the temple’s construction like it was done in 1992 for the demolition of Babri mosque.

* Ram temple Bill to be introduced in next Parliament session: BJP MLA

BJP MP Ravindra Kushwaha claimed a Bill allowing the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya will be introduced in the coming session of Parliament and the Centre will bring an ordinance in case it fails in the Rajya Sabha.

* Sadhvi Prachi demands an ordinance in Parliament

Speaking to reporters in Lakhimpur, Prachi said, “Either the court should pronounce an early judgment or the (central) government should bring in an ordinance for the construction of ‘Ram mandir’ on the pattern of Somnath.”

* No scope for ordinance on Ram temple: Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar

CM Manohar Lal Khattar said there is no scope for an ordinance on building Ram temple. “The temple should be built at the birth place of Lord Ram.

Efforts are being made to build consensus on this issue to ensure that temple is built at the birth place of Lord Ram. There is no scope for ordinance on it,” he said.

Is Dr Pravin Togadia staying in Ayodhya in an unknown place?

A source tells us that Ex VHP Intl President and now Chief of his AHP (AntarRashtriya Hindu Parishad) is staying in an unknown place within Ayodhya jurisdiction with a definite mission this time also. Dr Togadia have been contacting several Ashram and Akhada chiefs for last three days to boost up Ayodhya movement.

Count down to Ram Temple

Situations in Ayodhya indicate a count down for a big decision for the construction of Ram Temple. About 2.5 lakhs Ram Bhakts from VHP-Shiv Sena-Bajrang Dal- RSS are likely to converge into the holy town of Ayodhya for their last battle for a magnificant Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.
