The Greatest Show on the Earth, Kumbh Mela which started on Makar Sankranti concludes at Prayag Raj after 49 days on Maha Shiv Ratri.

22 crore devotees take holy dip in 49 days, Prayag Raj Kumbh Mela 2019 enters Guinness Book.

The biggest religious congregation has also been named in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest crowd management, sanitation drive and painting exercise on public sites.

Nelanshu Shukla | India Today Web | Lucknow | March 5, 2019:: The 49-day Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj has ended with lakhs of people taking a holy dip in the Sangam, confluence of River Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati and to mark the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. Meanwhile the biggest religious congregation has also been named in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest crowd management, sanitation drive and painting exercise on public sites.

Speaking to India Today , Additional Chief Secretary of UP Government Avanish Awasthi said,”UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath will participate in the closing ceremony of the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj on Tuesday and will felicitate the officers who have worked tirelessly to ensure that the devotees do not face any inconvenience”

“He will also be honouring the saints belonging to the Akahda Parishad for supporting the state government. The artists will be performing various cultural events to mark the ceremony. The CM will also be addressing a press conference at the media centre,” he added.

According to the Kumbh Mela administration, around 22 crore devotees have taken a holy dip in the Sangam since 15th January. It includes large number of foreigners belonging to different countries.

Jitendra Singh from Rajasthan who attended the last day of the Kumbh Mela said,”The state government has made very good arrangements and it’s quite remarkable that key focus has been cleanliness. The river has become cleaner and people are not facing any inconvenience as shuttle bus service is available free of cost. The arrangements are much better than the last Kumbh.”

Another devotee from Maharashtra , Mangesh Marathe said,”The is my first visit to the Kumbh Mela and I am happy with the arrangements here. Toilets have also been set up at many places for the public. It’s wonderful to see a large number of people taking holy dip at the Sangam”

More than 40,000 LED lights were installed this time and more than 20,000 cops were deployed for safety and management of the crowd.

4 police lines, 40 police stations, 58 police posts, 40 fire stations and more than a thousand CCTV cameras were installed for the security of the premises.

PTI | | Prayagraj |  March 4, 2019:: More than 60 lakh devotees were expected to take a holy dip in the Sangam on sixth and last snan of the Kumbh Mela today on the occasion of Mahashivratri. Devotees from far off places have thronged Mela campus for the Mahashivaratri snan. The Ardh Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj started on Makar Sankranti on 14-15 January in 2019 and concludes on 4th-5th March on Maha Shiva Ratri after 49 days.
