Upendra Bharti | HENB | Ayodhya | Sept 8, 2019:: Thousands of ‘Raghuvanshi’ people from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan reached Ayodhya on Sunday, claiming to be the descendants of Lord Ram and the Ikshvaku dynasty.
BJP MLA from Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district, Birendra Raghuvanshi, was also part of the rally, which had started from Bhopal on Friday under the banner of Akhand Raghuvanshi Samaj Kalyan Mahaparishad.
Addressed to the President and the Prime Minister, a memorandum was also given to the district administration, demanding a Ram temple be built at the disputed site in Ayodhya.
The Raghuvanshi people offered puja and prayer to Lord Rama in tent and marched around Shri Ram Janmasthan on Sunday.
Last month, the Supreme Court had said it was curious to know whether any descendants of Lord Ram were still living in Ayodhya. Mahaparishad national president Harishankar Singh Raghuvanshi said the yatra was in response to the Supreme Court’s poser.
During the hearing of Ayodhya land suit, Justice Bobde, one of the members of designated five judges constitutional bench in the Supreme Court had said it was curious to know whether any descendants of Lord Ram were still living and even in Ayodhya.
According to ANI, National vice president of the organisation, Kuldeep Singh Patel (Raghuvanshi) said, “Our people are deeply upset as this question has hurt our sentiments. We belong to the Raghuvanshi clan and this matter is no more a party issue, it only concerns people of our clan. Therefore, we request the apex court to make a speedy decision in the matter so that the Ram Mandir can come into existence.”
A five-judge constitution bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, including Justices D Y Chandrachud, S A Bobde, Ashok Bhushan and S A Abdul Nazeer, is conducting a day-to-day hearing in the Ayodhya title dispute case after the mediation panel failed to achieve an amicable settlement.
The apex court is hearing appeals against the September 30, 2010 verdict of the Allahabad High Court in the case.
A leader of Raghuvanshi Samaj, Kuldeep Patel Raghuvanshi told ANI: Respected Judges in the Court of law must not hurt Hindu sentiments by saying, where are the descendants of Lord Rama! We are here in Ayodhya in thousands to register ourselves as descendants of Lord Rama. We will be coming here in Lakhs in Ayodhya to prove as descendants of Lord Rama again if necessary!
