Kashi Vishwanath: Remains of 16th century temple found beside Shringar Gauri Mandir near Gyanvapi Mosque!

Abhishek Jaiswal | News Mantra web |Varanasi | Sept 4, 2020:: The remains of the ancient 16th century temple have been found during excavations at Kashi Vishwanath Dham, the dream project of PM Narendra Modi. A tunnel has also been detected during the excavation. These relics have been found close to the Enlightenment Mosque in the Vishwanath Dham complex. These remains found in excavations resemble the architectural style of 16th-century temples. Late Thursday, excavation work was going on from a bulldozer near the Shringar Gauri temple at Gyanvarid Maidan. During this period, when the tunnel-led path leading to the Enlightenment Mosque and the remains of the temple were found, the excavation work was stopped hastily. After this, the officials associated with the temple administration were informed about this. Gaurang Rathi, Chief Executive Officer of Kashi Vishwanath Temple, said that some remains have been found during the excavation at the Knowledge Ground. The team of experts of BHU and the Department of Archeology have been informed about this. The team of both experts will come here and investigate it. After that everything will be clear.

Many temples have come before
During the construction of Vishwanath Corridor, many historical temples have been found earlier. The team of Vishwanath Temple Administration, BHU and Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) are investigating these temples. Through carbon dating, the team is busy in preserving the history of these temples.

How will Kashi Vishwanath Corridor
The corridor to be built from Baba Durbar premises to Lalitha and Manikarnika Ghat will make the realization of Dharm Nagri real, then the concept of Anand Kanan and Rudra Van will be realized here. In this context, only 30 per cent of the area will be constructed in the corridor area of five lakh sq ft. The Cultural Center, Vedic Center, Tourist Facilitation Center, City Museum, Japa-Tapa Bhavan, Bhogashala, Moksha Bhavan and Darshan Facilitation Center will be maximum two storeys and the height will not be above the peak of Vishwanath Temple. More than 350 saplings of Rudraksha will be planted in Rudra forest. Security will be like airport. The renovation of the Kashi Vishwanath temple is going to happen after about 250 years. The temple was built in 1780 by Queen Ahilyabai Holkar. After this, temples were built nearby and people built houses while serving in the temples. Due to this, the unfettered area of Anand Kanan was surrounded by buildings. Now the temple and the surrounding area will be seen completely open. There will not be a long line on the road at Sawan and Shivratri. More than one lakh devotees will be able to stand comfortably in the two large court yards constructed in the corridor.
