UK Royal Mint launches gold bar featuring Lakshmi, Hindu Goddess of wealth to celebrate Diwali.

Seema Singh | HENB | New Delhi | Sept 30, 2021:: As the great festival of lights Diwali approaches, UK Royal Mint is getting ready for traditional gold purchase made by Indians all over the world on the day of Dhanteras. The mint has launched a gold bar with Hindu Goddess of wealth Lakshmi on it.

Diwali is most celebrated Hindu festival among the Sanatanis, Sikh, Jains, Buddhists, Arya Samajists and others even by non-Hindu people as well.

The gold bar weighs 20 g and is made up of 999.9 fine gold. It will be presented to customers in a specially designed henna patterned sleeve.

The Royal Mint website says that the gold bar is ‘an auspicious gift which unites British minting excellence and time-honoured traditions.

The gold bar has been designed by Emma Noble and has a thickness of 2.1 mm. Each gold bar will come with a unique serial number with ‘henna-inspired gift’ packaging of red covering embossed with the Hindu holy sign, ‘Om’.

The gold bar will be available for purchase on the official Royal Mint website+.

The Lakshmi bar, a 20-gramme gold bar featuring the Hindu Goddess of Wealth delicately etched into the precious metal, was created by Royal Mint designer Emma Noble in close collaboration with the Shree Swaminarayan Temple in Cardiff.

The bullion bar will also be blessed at the Shree Swaminarayan Temple’s Diwali ceremony as part of their “Lakshmi Poojan”, attended by Royal Mint representatives on November 4.

“It’s wonderful to see an international brand such as the Royal Mint taking such a considered and active approach to celebrate the Hindu culture within their product range,” said Nilesh Kabaria, from the temple.
