Bangladesh violence: VHP demands immediate relief for Hindus from B’desh govt, warns of agitation across West Bengal.

Aritra Singha | FPJ Online | Kolkata | Oct 19, 2021:: Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) to agitate across West Bengal if Bangladesh government doesn’t provide immediate support to the Hindus in Bangladesh.

Taking out protest rallies VHP held an agitation at Rani Rashmoni road in Central Kolkata and demanded immediate help to the Hindus suffering in Bangladesh.

Talking to Free Press Journal, VHP South Bengal spokesperson Sourish Mukherjee said that the Bangladesh Chief Minister Seikh Hasina should give immediate protection to the Hindus as the situation in Bangladesh is heart wrenching.

“On Sunday 600 houses were set on fire at Rangpur which is the constituency of Bangladesh Prime Minister. The VHP had already started protesting and will continue till every Hindus are protected,” said Sourish.

VHP’s Central Joint General Secretary, Surendra Jain said that the alleged atrocities being by the radical Islamic Jihadists and fundamentalists on Hindus can only be compared with the brutality of the Nazis.

“The United Nations Organization (UNO) should now send a Peace Keeping Force to stop the nonstop Jihadist genocide of the indigenous Hindus in Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Prime Minister should exercise her duty and ensure the safety and security of her minority Hindu society and get the culprits punished,” said Jain.

The Joint general secretary also added that in the last 10 days alone, over 150 Mother Durga Puja pandals have been destroyed and over 362 icons of deities demolished.

“Thousands of houses and shops of Hindus have been attacked and looted. More than 1,000 Hindus have been injured and till now 10 Hindus have also been reported dead,” further claimed Jain.

Meanwhile, slamming West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her silence over the issue, BJP West Bengal co-incharge Amit Malviya said, “Mamata Banerjee wouldn’t allow protests against Hindu genocide in Bangladesh in Kolkata. But on 30 Mar, 2013, she allowed Muslim groups in Kolkata, to protest death sentences awarded to 1971 war criminals in Bangladesh, issue death threats to Sheikh Hasina.”

The recent Jihadi attacks on Hindus in  Bangladesh  during this Durga Puja including murder and rape of Hindus, vandalization of Durga Puja Pandals and Temples and households and business created a high repercussion in West Bengal, the largest abode  of Bengali Hindus.

The spontaneous protest rallies took out throughout Bengal by various units of Bhratiyaa Janata Party,  Vishva Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Rashtriya Sanghati, Hindu Samaj Kalyan Samiti and Hindu Sanghati. Even common Hindus in some localities took the street without any banner to condemn the barbaric Jihadi attacks in Bangladesh in recent.

Such big protests held in Shaymbazar,  Ballygang (in front of Bharat Sevashran Sangha), Albert Road (in front of ISKCON, Kolkata). Mayapur,  Suri, Siliguri, Mathabhanga, Rampurhat, Barrackpore, Banga and in other places.  In Mayapur ISKCON HQ, a mammoth torch light procession was organized by devotees from 82 countries and the senior monks of ISKCON as reported.

But, the police administration of Mamata Banerjee the CM, WB denied the permission for such rallies and arrested many Hindu activists as reported.

Ajit Adhikary, the key functionary of Rashtriya Sanghati (TG) told HENB, “We will start a Long March to Petrapole-Bangladesh border from Banga Bata More on coming Saturday on Oct 23, 2021”.

Reports came from Delhi and Mumbai also. Today (Oct 20, 2021), Mumbai Police arrested the Virat Hindustan Sangam activists while they were protesting before the office of  Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh at Cuffe Paradae.

Huge Protest in Bangladesh and by International Hindu Community.

Huge Protests held in different parts of Bangladesh in its districts of Comilla, Rangpur, Chattagaram, Sylhet, Khulna, Chandpur and others. In Dhaka protests held in Dhaka University and Shahabag to stop the recurring Hindu persecution in Bangladesh by Jihadi elements. many of the protesters reclaimed the original ‘secular’ constitution of Bangladesh repealing the present Islamic Statehood in Bangladesh.

The Hindu Community and the Bengali Hindu diaspora in US protested the process of ethnic cleansing of Hindu minority by the Jihadi groups time and again now escalated again in this Durga Puja session. New York, Huston, Washington witnessed such protest against the violent Jihadi attacks on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.

Seeing the gravity of worldwide protests, Mia Seppo, the UN Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh condemned the attack in her tweet saying, ” Recent attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh fueled by hate speech on social media, are against the values of the Constitution and need to stop. We call upon Government to ensure protection of minorities and an impartial probe. We call upon all to join hands to strengthen inclusive tolerant Bangladesh”.

Under pressure, the official representative of Bangladesh in UN also expressed her concern in a tweet by saying, ““We condemn the heinous attacks on the Hindu community & express our sympathy & solidarity with the victims. We shall ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice. It’s our Constitutional commitment to uphold freedom of all faiths”.
