Another Phase of “Corporate Jihad”: Hindutva Groups Allege Religious Conversion Pressure at ONQ Hyderabad Firm.

B Upendra Rao | HENB | Hyderabad | August 31, 2026:; Members of some Hindutva organisations recently entered a corporate office in Hyderabad’s Madhapur area, alleging that a female employee was being pressured to convert to Islam in exchange for a promotion.

The exact date of the incident remains unclear. However, a video of the confrontation was posted on the Narayanpet Bajrang Dal’s Instagram page on August 24. According to the caption accompanying the video, Hindu female employees at the ONQ India office in Madhapur were allegedly being pressured by colleagues to convert to Islam and recite the Kalma.

The video identifies two employees—Firoz from the Human Resources department and team leader Abdul—as individuals allegedly involved in attempts to persuade employees to convert.

“Leaders and activists of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajrang Dal, and Hindu Vahini reportedly brought the matter to the company’s attention. Subsequently, the company is said to have taken action against the two individuals,” the caption states.

It further says: “No employee should face religious pressure, coercion, or harassment in the workplace. Companies should take immediate and impartial action in response to such allegations.”

The video shows a group confronting company staff and staging a dharna at what appears to be the office parking area. The footage does not, by itself, establish whether any employee was actually subjected to coercion or whether the allegations against the two employees are substantiated.

Police Inquiry Underway

Speaking to the media, Madhapur Station House Officer (SHO) K. V. Subba Rao said that no complaint had been filed by the female employee who was allegedly pressured to convert.

However, the office administration reportedly lodged a complaint against the individuals who allegedly entered the premises without authorisation. Police have initiated an inquiry into the incident.

The allegations have brought renewed attention to claims made by Hindutva activists about religious pressure and alleged attempts at conversion in corporate workplaces. Activists have increasingly used the term “Corporate Jihad” to describe what they allege are organised or individual attempts to persuade Hindu employees—particularly women—to convert to Islam by offering inducements such as promotions, favourable postings, or other workplace benefits.

However, such allegations require independent investigation and evidence before conclusions can be drawn.

Earlier TCS Controversy

The Hyderabad episode comes months after allegations surrounding a “Corporate Jihad” controversy at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Nashik, Maharashtra, during March–April 2026. Hindutva activists had raised allegations of religious pressure and conversion-related activities within the corporate environment in that case as well.

The latest incident in Madhapur is therefore being viewed by Hindutva groups as another instance requiring scrutiny of alleged religious coercion in workplaces.

The police inquiry and any investigation by the company are expected to establish whether the allegations of religious pressure or coercion have substance and whether any workplace rules or laws were violated.

Police subsequently arrested several people, including Nida Khan, described as the key accused in the Nashik TCS “Corporate Jihad” case.
