Hindu nurse Rima Pramanik brutally murdered after rape by her Muslim employer in Bhairab.

Atul Das | HENB | Dhaka | July 13, 2022:: Police have recovered the body of a Hindu nurse from a private hospital in Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj district in Bangladesh on Monday (Jul 11) morning. The deceased was identified as Rima Pramanik, 19, daughter of Sentu Pramanik, of Pirizkandi village under Raipura upazila of Narsingdi district.

Police have arrested Rima’s Muslim employer Hanifur Rahman, (Managing Director) of the hospital in connection of the murder. The nurse was reportedly raped before the murder.

The victim’s body was recovered from the United Hospital and Orthopedics Center in Bhairab around 10am. She worked as a nurse in United Hospital and Orthopedics Center. According to police and local sources, Rima was working as a nurse in the hospital the last two years. She took leave from the hospital on July 7 and went to her house.

According to police and media sources, Rima returned to the hospital from home on Jul 9, after receiving a phone call from the hospital authorities. Later, her body was found in a hospital bed in the morning. Being informed, police went to the spot and recovered the body.

One social media forum, ‘Mandir TV’ conveyed, “Rima got a job in police and tendered her resignation to the nursing home authority in order to join her new assignment. But, the nursing home authority called her for some reason and ultimately the dead body of Rima was recovered from United Hospital and Orthopedics Center in Bhairab”. 

Local sources confirmed that Nursing Home Managing Director Hanifur Rahman used to exploit the Hindu nurses physically after giving employment in his nursing home with a sexual intention. 

Bhairab Police Station officer in charge Golam Mostafa said they recovered the body and sent it to Kishoreganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Legal action would be taken in this regard, said the OC.

The life of minority Hindus in Islamic Bangladesh has been turned as hell in an atmosphere of radical insurgence day by day. The rights and security of Bangladesh Hindus have come down at the lowest under the pressure of influential Sharia organisations and their agents in all political parties. Hindus are treated as Kaffir and third class citizens in Bangladesh.
