PM Modi in Grand Ayodhya Deepotsav, bank of Sarayu lights up with over 15 lakh lamps.

In Ayodhya, PM Modi offers prayers at Ram Janmabhoomi before inaugurating Deepotsav, inspects Ram Temple construction site.

Vishal Tiwari | HENB | Ayodhya | Oct 23, 2022:: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday offered prayers to Ram Lalla at Ram Janmabhoomi in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya. Modi arrived in the temple town on to inaugurate Deepotsav celebrations which will see around 18 lakh earthen lamps being lit to celebrate Diwali.

This is Modi’s first visit to Ayodhya after a “bhoomi pujan” for the construction of a Ram temple on August 5, 2020. Immediately after reaching Ayodhya for the Deepotsav celebrations, the PM went to the Ram temple and offered prayers to Ram Lalla.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also inspected Shree Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra site in Ayodhya to get a details of ongoing construction of Ram Temple there.He also offered Aarti of River Saryu and performed a Rajyabhishek (coronation) of the symbolic Bhagwan Shree Ram later.

The prime minister was welcomed by governor Anandiben Patel and chief minister Yogi Adityanath in Ayodhya.

The Deepotsav, which set a  new benchmark of records, decorated Ayodhya with countless indigenous and exotic flowers.

Every intersection of Ayodhya was embellished with rangolis made of flowers to make the Deepotsav 2022 more magnificent. The bank of river Saryu was beautifully decorated with earthen lamps set in a pattern that awaits their lighting as soon as the sun sets.

Security in Ayodhya was beefed up in view of the Prime Minister’s visit. The Yogi Adityanath government through the organisation of ‘Deepotsav’ did not promote not only the state’s spiritual and religious significance but also the ‘Dhobia’, and ‘Faruwahi’ dance artists.

The sixth edition of ‘Deepotsav’ celebrations started on Sunday morning with sixteen spectacular tableaux based on episodes from the Ramayana taken out in the holy city.

Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh flagged off the themed tableaux, which were taken out from Udaya Intersection to Ram Katha Park in Ayodhya.

PM Modi narrated Deepotsav celebration as a revival of the ethos of cultural India.

Ayodhya set a record by lighting up over 15 Lakh diyas as the feat entered into Guinness Book of World Records.
