Flowers, Faith, and Festivity: Yogi Govt’s Grand Welcome for Devotees at Mahakumbh 2025 showering Rose petals. 

Upendra Bharti | HENB | Sangam (Prayagraj) | Jan 13, 2025:: The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh started the first ‘Snan Parv’ of Mahakumbh 2025 with a breathtaking gesture, showering devotees with rose petals from a helicopter on Paush Purnima Snan. This grand welcome was extended to millions of devotees gathered at the Sangam for a holy dip, with helicopters blanketing all ghats and akhadas with vibrant flower petals, creating a truly celestial atmosphere.

As the rose petals cascaded down, a sea of devotees was overcome with joy and spiritual fervor, erupting into a thunderous chant of “Jai Shri Ram” in perfect unison, creating an unforgettable spectacle.

In accordance with the Yogi government’s arrangements, the Horticulture Department undertook meticulous preparations to orchestrate a spectacular flower shower for devotees during the Mahakumbh Mela’s bathing festivals. Special arrangements were made to source an abundance of rose petals, culminating in a breathtaking display that harmoniously blended devotion and celebration.

To elevate the spiritual experience of the Mahakumbh Mela, the authorities have planned to shower approximately 20 quintals of rose petals during each bathing festival. The inaugural bathing festival, Paush Purnima Snan, witnessed a mesmerizing flower shower on Monday, further intensifying the devotees’ spiritual fervor. There are six royal bathing festivals (Sahi Snan- Rajasi Snan) during this Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj as below:

– Paush Purnima: (First Shahi Snan) January 13, 2025
– Makar Sankranti (Second Shahi Snan): January 14, 2025
– Mauni Amavasya (Third Shahi Snan): January 29, 2025
– Basant Panchami (Fourth Shahi Snan): February 3, 2025
– Maghi Purnima: (Fifth Shahi Snan) February 12, 2025
– Maha Shivratri: (Sixth Shahi Snan) February 26, 2025

Concurrently, a multi-layered security apparatus was meticulously implemented to guarantee a seamless and secure experience. Helicopters providing aerial surveillance and security personnel strategically stationed across the fairgrounds kept a watchful eye on the proceedings. Senior police and administrative officers maintained active involvement, closely monitoring the arrangements to ensure the the well-being of the devotees with their entire satisfaction.
