Stop Temple Donation Fraud In Ayodhya and Mathura.

Donation Transparency Questions Surface at Mathura Temple Amid Ongoing Ayodhya Trust’s ‘donation theft’ Controversy.

Upendra Bharti | HENB | Mathura, Uttar Pradesh | June 18, 2026:: Even as allegations of financial irregularities at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya continue to attract public attention, a fresh controversy has emerged surrounding the management of donations and offerings at the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple in Mathura.

Dinesh “Phalahari” Maharaj, a religious figure associated with the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi movement, has accused the temple administration of financial mismanagement and demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the temple’s donation and revenue systems. In a dramatic move intended to draw attention to his concerns, Maharaj reportedly wrote a letter in his own blood to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, urging a comprehensive probe into the temple’s financial operations.

Allegations of Lack of Transparency

According to Maharaj, serious questions exist regarding the accounting and monitoring of donations made by devotees. He alleged that surveillance cameras are switched off whenever donation boxes and collection vaults are opened, creating what he described as opportunities for irregularities and weakening transparency in the handling of offerings.

He further claimed that gold, silver, and other valuable ornaments donated by devotees are not being properly documented and accounted for. Drawing comparisons with recent allegations surrounding donation management at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, Maharaj argued that similar scrutiny should be applied to the financial administration of the Mathura shrine.

No independent evidence has yet been presented publicly to substantiate these claims.

Questions Raised Over Wealth of Temple-Linked Individuals

Among the most serious allegations made by Maharaj are claims that certain individuals associated with the temple administration have accumulated significant wealth over time. He alleged that some employees and office-bearers who previously lived modestly now possess luxury homes, expensive vehicles, and substantial property holdings.

Speaking to media outlets, Maharaj claimed that some individuals linked to temple management own properties worth crores of rupees in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, and other locations. He urged authorities to examine whether such assets are proportionate to their known sources of income.

“These matters deserve investigation,” Maharaj reportedly said, arguing that public trust in religious institutions depends on transparency and accountability in the management of donations.

Allegations Concerning Temple Offerings and Religious Services

Maharaj also alleged irregularities in the administration of religious offerings and rituals. In particular, he questioned financial practices related to “Chhappan Bhog,” the traditional offering of 56 sacred vegetarian dishes to Lord Krishna.

According to his allegations, excessive commissions may be involved in arrangements connected to such offerings. He called for a detailed audit of all movable and immovable assets linked to temple officials and employees.

Claims have not been independently verified

These claims have not been independently verified, and no official investigation has yet confirmed any wrongdoing.

Ayodhya Controversy Draws Wider Attention

The Mathura allegations emerge against the backdrop of a broader debate over financial transparency in religious trusts and temple administrations. Public discussion has intensified following accusations concerning the handling of donations and financial affairs associated with institutions connected to the Ayodhya Ram Temple.

Maharaj criticized what he described as insufficient attention to concerns raised regarding temple donations and argued that scrutiny should not be limited to a single religious institution. He maintained that accountability standards should apply equally to all organizations managing public religious donations.

Demand for Government Action

Appealing directly to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Maharaj called for a high-level inquiry and expressed confidence that any proven corruption would be addressed under the state government’s administration.

He warned that if no investigation is initiated, he may seek judicial intervention by approaching the High Court. Maharaj also alleged that he has received threats from individuals he claims are associated with supporters of certain temple-linked figures. He indicated that he intends to seek security protection from the state government.

Temple Management Yet to Respond

As of now, the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple management has not issued an official response to the allegations. Media attempts to contact representatives of the temple trust reportedly did not receive a response.

Likewise, no government agency or public authority has announced an inquiry into the claims, and no official findings have been released supporting allegations of financial misconduct.

Broader Debate on Religious Trust Governance

The controversy has reignited discussions regarding transparency, accountability, and oversight in the administration of major religious institutions that receive substantial donations from devotees. Observers note that public confidence in temple management depends not only on religious faith but also on clear systems for auditing donations, documenting valuable offerings, and ensuring financial accountability.

At present, the allegations concerning both Ayodhya and Mathura remain matters of public dispute rather than established fact. Whether any formal investigation follows will likely determine the extent to which the claims are substantiated or dismissed.

Note: All allegations referenced in this report are claims made by Dinesh “Phalahari” Maharaj and have not been independently verified. No official investigation has yet confirmed any financial irregularities at the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple.

Allegations Concerning RSS-Linked Influence and Institutional Accountability

A significant aspect of Dinesh “Phalahari” Maharaj’s allegations concerns what he describes as the role of individuals associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and its broader network in the management of major Hindu religious institutions.

According to Maharaj, concerns surrounding donation transparency and financial accountability cannot be viewed solely as isolated administrative issues. He argues that questions must also be raised about the influence exercised by individuals and groups linked to the Sangh Parivar in the affairs of prominent temples, including those at Ayodhya and Mathura.

Referring to the ongoing controversy surrounding alleged irregularities in the handling of donations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, Maharaj criticized what he characterized as the reluctance or failure of senior functionaries associated with the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust to adequately address allegations regarding donations collected from devotees. In particular, he questioned the response of veteran RSS pracharak and trust general secretary Champat Rai, suggesting that concerns raised by devotees and activists had not received sufficient attention.

Maharaj further alleged that individuals belonging to RSS-backed religious and administrative networks have acquired substantial influence over temple management structures. Extending his criticism to Mathura, he claimed that groups enjoying ideological or organizational proximity to the Sangh Parivar have become deeply involved in the administration of temple finances, donations, and valuable offerings, creating what he described as a lack of independent oversight.

According to Maharaj, these developments raise broader concerns about the concentration of authority within religious institutions and the potential weakening of traditional systems of accountability. He argued that temple management should remain transparent and subject to rigorous auditing irrespective of the ideological affiliations of those involved.

The religious leader has maintained that his demand is not directed against any particular organization but is instead focused on ensuring that donations made by devotees are properly recorded, audited, and utilized. Nevertheless, his statements have sparked debate over the extent to which organizations associated with the Sangh Parivar should participate in the administration of major Hindu shrines.

Supporters of Maharaj’s position contend that large religious institutions handling significant donations must be subject to the highest standards of transparency regardless of who manages them. Critics, however, note that the allegations remain unproven and caution against drawing conclusions in the absence of official investigations or verified evidence.

Neither the RSS, Champat Rai, nor the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple management has publicly responded to these specific allegations. No government agency has so far confirmed any wrongdoing by RSS-linked individuals, temple officials, or trust functionaries.

As a result, the claims currently remain allegations made by Maharaj and have not been established through any judicial, administrative, or investigative process.
