Upananda Brahmachari | HENB | Haridwar | July 13, 2019:: This is very embarrassing that a Bharat Sevashram Sangha Monk and devotees were attacked, assaulted and humiliated in Jammu-Twai Humsafar Express in Lucknow Station by RPF as provoked by two Muslim women, while returning from Amarnath Yatra. But, there is no time for the Union Railway Minister, Union Home Minister and UP Chief Minister, to hear the issue anyway.
Bharat Sevashram Sangha is a internationally famed philanthropic organization which is mostly renowned for its relief work in any calamity or disaster with various social welfare activities as run by the organisation.
A Hindu monk who is in charge of the Kaliaganj branch of the Bharat Sevashram Sangha in North Dinajpur and nine other devotees returning from the Amarnath yatra, including three women, were allegedly beaten up by a group of Railway Protection Force personnel at Lucknow station on Wednesday past Thursday midnight.
Swami Jyotirmoyananda (popularly known as Utpal Maharaj) and some of the devotees lodged a complaint with the Government Railway Police in Sealdah on Thursday and have also tweeted to Union railway minister Piyush Goyal and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath about the incident. But, any reaction, intervention or appropriate steps yet to be reported unfortunately.
“We boarded the Sealdah-bound Humsafar Express from Jammu Tawi on Wednesday morning and all of us had reservations in an AC coach. Two Muslim women named Mehnaj Rahaman and E. Rahaman (in reserved seat no 26 and 28 in no coach no 13) with another two Muslim women requested us to let them sit in our berths. We agreed,” Swami Jyotirmoyananda said.
According to the monk, at about 3 pm, they asked the women to sit in their reserved seats, as some elderly persons with the monk extremely needed some rests.
“Surprisingly, their behaviour changed all on a sudden and they refused to vacate the berths. They also threatened us that we would be taught a lesson when the train reached Lucknow. One of them claimed that her husband was a senior government official in Indian Railway Personnel Services (IRPS). We did not get into any further argument and accommodated ourselves in the remaining berths,” said Swami Jyotirmoyananda.
Around midnight, as the train reached Lucknow, the two women got off with their attendants.
After some time, a team of RPF personnel entered the coach with an angry and rowdy approach and started assult upon Bharat Sevashram Sangha Monk and Devotees so provoked by two Muslim women and their Husbands (perhaps in some higher Govt services) behind the curtain.
“They walked up to us and started beating us up without any provocation. They also verbally abused us with utter filthy languages. Even the three women in our group were not spared. We tried to get off the train to seek help from the GRP but they (the RPF personnel) stopped us. As the train was about to leave, they left the coach,” Swami Jyotirmoyananda said.
When the train reached Varanasi, the monk and his co-travellers informed the GRP about the attack.
After arriving at Sealdah on Thursday evening, they filed a complaint at the GRP unit at the station.
“We have also tweeted to the Union railway minister and the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. It is unfortunate that we were beaten up for no reason,” Swami Jyotirmoyananda said.
When the group of Amarnath pilgrims reached Kaliaganj on Friday, Kartick Pal, the chairman of the local municipality, met them.
Incidentally, Rajnath Singh, the Union Defence Minister is the Member of Parliament from Lucknow, whose reaction against the attack on Amarnath Pilgrims and Bharat Sevashram Sangha Monk and devotees are still unclear.
There is no intervention from Piyush Goal, the Union Railway Minster, so far.
And most unfortunately, Yogi Adityanath, the CM of UP and Head of Nath Sampradaya (sect) and the Mahant (Chief priest) of Gorakhpeeth took no action for the attack on monks and devotees of Bharat Sevashram Sangha, the founder which was Acharya Swami Pranavanda Ji Maharaj, who was spiritually initiated by Baba Gambhirnath, a powerful monk of Gorakhpeeth and once chief on Nath sects.
Though the news of attack on a Monk of Bharat Sevashram Sangha and its Devotees has slightly touched the media of Bengal as in Telegraph India, News Britant and Ananda Bazar Patrika, the West Bengal BJP ignored the issue for some unknown reason.

I wonder why such delay is caused to arrest the culprits and initiate legal actions against them especially when BJP govt is in power both in the State as well as in Centre. We appeal to JOGIJI to initiate actions immediately

Bharat Sevashram Sangha is well known organisation dedicated to do service to Humanity irrespective caste, creed, religion. I am really shocked to hear the attack on the monk. In any case it is a condemnable act. The authorities should take appropriate steps to bring errant personnel to book.
