Muslim woman threatened by Jihadi Mob in WB for reciting Hanuman Chalisa. Will Mamata Banerjee govt protect Ishrat Jahan?

Krishna Saha | HENB | Howrah | July 18, 2019:: Triple talaq crusader Ishrat Jahan+ and her four children were on Wednesday driven out of her rented home in Howrah’s Pilkhana after a 100-strong mob objected to her participation in the Hanuman Chalisa event on Tuesday. With other four Muslim women, Ishrat Jahan moved the Supreme Court of India against the menace of Triple Talaq in 2014 who also joined BJP in January 2018.

As per TOI report+, Ishrat was bringing her son back home from school around 1pm when over 100 locals of Muslim-dominated Pilkhana — where she had rented a flat — surrounded her.

As per ANI, Jahan has asked to be provided with police protection after receiving death threats.

Ishrat said in her complaint to police: “I was scared to find myself surrounded by such a large crowd (read Jihadi mob). They kept yelling at me and saying ‘this is Ishrat Jahan. She participated in a Hanuman Chalisa chanting programme on Tuesday.” Reportdly+, Ishrat Jahan also distributed some ‘Hanuman Chalisa books in the programme.

“They (local Muslims) kept accusing me of acting against my faith. I am receiving death threats. I demand protection of me and my chilren”, she added.

In her complaint at Golabari police station in Howrah, Ishrat accused her Muslim brother-in-law and her Muslim landlord of hurling abuses and intimidating her for taking part in the religious function in her residential area on Tuesday last.

Noted liberal writer and expatriated Bangladeshi Social activist Taslima Nasreen advised Ihsrat Jahan to reject her Hijab permanently+ in this reciting Hanuman Chalisa row.

Taslima tweeted: Ishrat Jahan should remove her hijab and go wherever she wants to go. She is not insulting hijab, hijab is insulting her.

Now, the question arises…. Will WB CM Mamata Banerjee protect this lone Muslim lady Ishrat Jahan+ in a danger? The double standard of WB CM is about to expose once again.
