Hyderabad: Illegal mosque of a temporary nature removed after a complaint from Hindutva groups.

A temporary mosque was illegally constructed on the bank of River Musi near Golnaka, Amberpet upon the irrigation land with the intention to make a big permanent mosque thereby acquiring that land under Wakf property. Bajrang Sena and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti protest the matter for dismantling the illegal construction.

B Upendran | Bhagyanagar (Hyderabad) | HENB | April 23, 2023:: Authorities on Saturday removed a temporary mosque set up using a container truck cabin on the banks of the River Musi located in Hyderabad’s Amberpet.

Sources said that the structure of the makeshift mosque was illegal and permission was not taken from the concerned authorities for its construction. There was a clear intention to make a big permanent mosque thereby acquiring that area under Wakf property as land jihad.

But, local Hindutva groups objected to the mosque and lodged complaints with the district collector and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Chairman for which the local revenue authorities and police acted and removed the structure.

Actually, a temporary mosque was illegally constructed here on the bank of River Musi near Golnaka, Amberpet. A cabin made of iron was brought here and given the form of a mosque. Namaz prayers were also offered at this mosque. Three days later, when Bajrang Sena came to know about this, they informed other Hindu organisations. All the Hindu organisations together gave a letter to the District Collector, Commissioner of the Corporation, and Divisional Commissioner requesting the removal of the illegal mosque. The Administration removed the mosque subsequently.

Deputation

As per the Court orders, the land where this temporary mosque existed, is to be used for irrigation. Any other construction is not permitted on the land. Despite this, there was an attempt to illegally construct a mosque. Bajrang Sena, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Hindu Sanghatan Ekta Manch, Hindu Vahini, Jay Shriram Sena, Rashtriya Shivaji Sena, and Hindu Joint Action Committee collectively objected to this and hence, the Administration had to take action promptly without any delay.

According to the police, the Amberpet Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) had written a letter requesting the police to remove the structure on April 19. Later, the structure was removed under police protection on an urgent basis.
