Upananda Brahmachari | HENB | Ujjain | May 13, 2016:: Failing to fix the agenda of Ram Rajya by tagging “the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya” in a lauded ‘Vaicharik Maha Kumbh’ during the Ujjain Simhasth Kumbh Parv, an annoyed VHP has started its Ram Temple campaign on its own in the sideline of RSS-BJP influenced ‘International Conference of Living the Right Way; Universal Message of Fundamental Development’ at Ninora here.
To give it a ‘secular look’ the issue of Ram Rajya was dropped from ‘Vaicharik Kumbh’ (May 12-14) agenda and the stalwarts of VHP like Dr Pravin Togadia, Champat Rai and Surendra Jain were not even invited in the programme to keep PM Modi out of any debate linked with the Ram Temple issue in Ayodhya. PM Modi will attend the valedictory session of Vaichark Kumbh to launch the Simhastha Declaration.
Instead of focusing on the Ram temple, more than 6,000 delegates in Vaicharik Maha Kumbh from around the world just share their views on ‘value- based life’ without the principle of Ram Rajya and they are not likely ashamed at all for a pitiable condition of Ram Lala put in a make-shift pandal.
When asked about the Ram temple, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan evaded a direct reply and said the programme has ‘value-based life’, ‘protection of Nature’ and the ‘Krishi Kumbh’ etc. on its agenda.
But, a section in VHP took this behaviour of BJP-RSS combine as a direct insult to the Ayodhya Ramjanmabhoomi Temple Movement and has started a spontaneous campaign for Ram Temple at Ayodhya without further delay.
Sensing this pulse of the VHP attendees in Simhasth and large numbers of devotees of the Ram Lala and the pro-Temple people, the VHP general secretary Champat Rai said, “Construction will start before December 31, and we won’t wait for the Supreme Court verdict… We kept our patience, but won’t wait beyond December.” He was addressing a gathering of sants and youths from across the country at Ujjain Maha Kumbh on Tuesday last.
Responding to some media reports which claimed that the temple’s construction would begin from November 1, the VHP general secretary said some organisations were spreading rumours to hog limelight on the Ayodhya issue. He said 90% of the work for temple construction had been completed and the remaining would be done with the help of sants.
“The matter is sub judice in the SC and regular hearings are expected from June,” Rai told the gathering.
In a reply to this question, “Why VHP is not holding its Dharma Sansad, the highest body of the organisation during Simhasth Kumbh for a final discussion about Ramjanmabhoomi Temple”, Rai told HENB, there had been a nationwide consensus to build Ram Temple without any delay or not indulging any political proximity in it. Even then, we would go to the people again if the starting of Ram temple construction would be stopped anyway within the deadline of Dec 31, by any authority or animosity.
